    • Can't get in the Tower

I've got a question along similar lines as the Tome of Moki guy asked.

Here's the situation: Been doing the basic game, sans Trinity plugin. Got as far as I can go insofar as quests and so forth are concerned. So I activated Trinity along with a few others (spells expander and worlds of chaos). I know, you're not supposed to activate trinity in an already-begun game (apparently), but I'm reluctant to start out as a grunt again, so want to give it a try as is. I know it's primarily Conjurer stuff, but....

Anyway, looks like I'm a Swordsman. Fine. Found the Swordsman's place, talked to Gak, headed out to the Tower to nab that Tome of Warfare. Thing is, I can't get in. Also, looks like I only thought I hit J when Gak was telling me what I needed to give them, so no journal notes on it. I guess there were a few things I need to find to offer when I get there, but don't know what they were. Figures - I've got Fayleese's bare-bones comments in the journal, but not the real important stuff.

Anyway, getting to the question that is already obvious by now: What do I need? Where do I find it (or at least find the people who'll tell me where it is)? And mainly, will this get me into the Tower to begin with, or should I just suck it in and start out as a grunt that the lowliest of thieves can take?

If it ain't broke, let me
      have a try at it!

    • A swordsman cannot get in to the tower from the entrance, ask around though, you should have friends in high places if you help them out.

Of course you can't wander into the Mage Tower as a swordsman. If you need to get a tome out of there, remember who was the librarian there. Doesn't he owe you a favor for clearing out is laboratory? Maybe if you go see him and ask nicely, he'll let you sneak in the back way.

Find those areas you missed the first time around. Have you been everywhere?

    • Oh sure, skip the cryptic hint and just tell him why dont you??

You entered your post while I was typing. If I'd seen your post first, I wouldn't have needed to answer at all. So you had a more cryptic answer than I. I find that amusing from one who makes the cheat plug-ins.

      Edit: typo

I don't quite know how to take that remark...

With a cryptic smile, of course.

    • Ironically, within minutes of leaving this message I had a word with the librarian and he let me in. Go figure.

However, now that I got the tome, and decided to take that Tome of Moki (seeing as these guys appear to be pretty upset about losing it), I'm trying to find the Stone the librarian wants, apparently in the Rock Island caves. I've been looking around, and no sign of an island. The boat guy still appears to be only interested in Reef Island, and while it's loaded with Bird Chicks (would an Englishman call them "Bird Birds?") it's obviously not the place I'm looking for.

Given my luck to date, I'll probably locate this place within minutes of logging off, but just in case I don't any cryptic pointers (not too cryptic, just got off work) would be helpful.

    • Fayleese told you the island was off the south coast somewhere. 'Fraid you're just going to have to look for this. ~RD

    • I have been. I walked the whole South Coast, dodging Sea Giants and turning blue cats and so forth into more points for me, but so far no sign of an island. And seeing as you can only see a very short distance, I'm not sure where I'd see an island or how. I tried hacking away at those rocks with the axe, but it didn't seem to do any good.

I presume that when I find it, it'll be so obvious I'll slap myself in the head and shout "Doh!"

    • I appreciate all the board greetings TY.

I was wondering if anyone might be willing to share a tad more about finding 'rock island' (i do have the WOC plugin) I, too, have been running all over some 8 screens, re-searching every nook and cranny for something that would make sense. A this point I think I can finally say there is no new path anywhere. Do I have slash at every rock formation I see with the axe? Given this plug-in's sensitivity (for example, there is but one single pixel you have to click on in the vault to get the book) it would seem futile to face every part of every rock and slash away. Is there something stupidly obvious I am missing, some clue I have not picked up on?

Search the coast, since it's an island, you're gonna have to cross water.

    • DOH! Don't know how I missed that... Must have been selective blindness.

      Much obliged
