Does anyone know what the best effective weapons against creasent Warships and the Vinionian Dreadnaught?

skr
Crescent Warship
Primary Weapon: Phase Turrets
Secondary Weapon: SAE/SAD Modules (probably)
Voinian Dreadnaught
Primary Weapon: Blaze or Neutron Turrets
Secondary Weapon: Rockets or Hunter Missiles

The same weapons I favor as well. Normally, I take out the Dreadnaught with hunter missiles and blaze weapons, or neutron weapons if I've already completed the Pareen station missions.

Against the Crescent warship stick with phase weapons, but if you have a small
ship don't be afraid to use a needle launcher with all the missiles you can buy.
Against the Dreadnought you could use Emalgha turrets, but I'd advise against
secondary weapons. Rockets are okay, I suppose, especially to hammer away while
the UE Destroyers take the fire.

Yeah, but Neutron weapons are just too big, slow, and bulky. Blaze Weapons I've found to work much better.

In actual fact I don't think I've ever gone up against the Voinian Dreadnought
with anything other than blaze CANNONS.
I never stall the mission to get a better ship, so I always end up doing it in
my trusty UE Fighter, which is great for spearheads and doesn't get incinerated
like UE warships.

Everywhere to the galactic southwest of the miranu and the crescent, neutron turrets I'd say are most effective in any scenario, especially en. neutron turrets if you have ROTUE. Everywhere else, I'd say phase turrets. In both cases, its always a good idea to have at least three of the types of turrets to keep up a nice stream of fire.

Correction: I normally only use the Neutron Cannon, not the turret. It has good range and punch. As for the turreted version, I agree. Too bulky and slow-firing...

I hate all cannons except for swivel cannons.

I used a combo of 3 Emalgha turrets and 2 Blaze cannons. Oh, and space mines, but don't tell the UE about the Destroyers i "Accidentally" Blew up.
Oh, and Kuf-Skr? You can get a lot of people mad at you for saying Vininonionianan
Its V-O-I-N-I-A-N Thats

The difference in
insantiy and ingenious is
measured just by success.
Defense pods are the best weapon against the dreadnought. Its quick and easy. Sometimes you kill the durn thing before the destroyers even have a chance to engage.
I haven't actually tried this yet, but it seems to me that if you loaded an Azdara with shield recharge enhancing things it wouldn't matter what weapons you put on it. Your shields would recharge so fast the only way anyone could kill you is with multiple rockets hitting simultaneously. (If you've ever flown an enhanced Azdara you know what I mean.)
the forklift. but if you dont want to cheat, nuetron and phase turrets or cannons.

Neutron? Are you mad, boy? They're slow, heavy and are truely horrible weapons!
PS: Of course, for all I know you could be a female/adult, but it was fun saying
it.

Yes, always remember to call those grey buggers Vikimedigies!
Hehe, get an azdara and put emalgha guns on it for the dreadnought. For anything els, get an azdara with swivel phase cannons. Never play in anything slower than an Azdara

I always use Neutron Cannons. I barely ever use secondary weapons.

9 or 10 SAEs will destroy a CW. I personally like phase fire and needle missiles against the Dreadnought. For some reason needles seem to do more damage to armor than pursuits, they fire faster and you can carry loads.

Hmm... how fitting that this topic was revived by someone named "Reborn." First off, that has to be the most original misspelling of "Voinian" I've ever seen! Second, Ultimate Rebel is correct, the forklift is the most effective weapon, period. Third, Voinian and Crescent ships are essentially opposites with respect to the weapons they are most vulnerable to. Crescent ships have mostly shields, and their own weapons work best (phase cannons, etc.) Voinians have mostly armor, against which their neutron weapons are quite powerful. Fortunately, the UE and Emalgha designed their weapons specifically to combat Voinian armor. Of these two, Emalgha weapons are more effective, but are quite lacking in terms of accuracy and range. Blaze weapons do little better for accuracy, but have better range, although neither is effective as neutron weapons. Finally, I have found that mounting slingshots on one's ship and attempting to combat other vessels with them achieves very little, and often results in the destruction of one's ship if they are not quick enough in their inevitable retreat.
sincerely,
CPH
