      By the way: How do you still get the tachyonic fighter if—for lack of funds— you didn't get it before Emile's death? If you can't get it: Can you still finish the game, i.e. in a normal ship?

      You'll need the fighter to finish the game. I don't know if it will work for you, but try one of the ports in the Riga system. At some point, you can get the fighter there.

      You don't need the Tachyonic Fighter to finish the game!

      There isn't a capability (that I know) which limits missions whether you pilot
      the ship or not. I did many of the missions in my Icepick (errr...... Lightning
      fighter :))

      For you plugin writers, there is a facility in EVO 1.0.2 to limit a mission to the pilots of particular ships. It's not in Frozen Heart, however.

      As far as finishing the game without the Tachyonic Fighter, my response is 'I would be very interested to know if anyone has done it'. You need a light vessel with 20 tonnes of cargo space which goes very fast and does well for shields to play most of the missions. You're going to need something pretty hefty to punch a hole in the Hunter-Killer, but you're then timed for arrival at Tesken Alpha. And as for the Black Hole and the Hawk...

      Well, just as one can theoretically finish all of the plotlines in EVO with a shuttle, it should be possible to finish Frozen Heart in, say, a ridiculously tricked out fighter or Wanderer. Such an attempt would likely involve hours upon hours upon hours of waiting for one's flipping fuel to replenish via ramscoop. However, as one of the final missions requires the player to conquer a planet defended by FOUR Ungodly Powerful Turret Thingies (each capable of living through 2 IMP missiles...erk), this would be nearly impossible.
