    • ATTN ALL Announcing the Grand Opening of EVO Infocenter!!

Anouncing the grand opening of EVO Infocenter. A new site with information about the different races in EVO, as well as their individual missions, ships and technology. It has detailed descriptions and information about each species. Come check it out at
      (url="http://"http://www.evoinfo.f2s.com")www.evoinfo.f2s.com(/url)

I've had the site up for a while but I've been trying to work out a few kinks and links. I finally got it working so if you've been there before only to get annoyed at broken links and images I encourage you to check it out again, this time it's working.

      Thanks

    • Feedback:

What you call the Gadziar Races are usually reffered to as the Strands.

It looks like you have decent information on the page... I would suggest some more detailed mission help.

      ------------------
You don't have to do this! Life is too precious! Good, good, slowly, everything will be OK. Now, put the trout down...

Also, they are not "races." The Override Civilisations chapter of the EVO documentation states clearly that they are different factions of one race.

I know they are called the strand, but that doesn't sound near as cool as Gazdair now does it :). As for missions well I wanted to give them the general guide to help them on their way, step by step would spoil all the fun, so Jess no it's not cheating.

Ah who cares if I called them races or not, whatever, anyway did you see anything positive about my site?

    • Sorry for nitpicking, but what you call the "Keyans" are the "Kayans." Also, you forgot the Strandless.

Hmm I was going to get someone to spellcheck, that is an awful lot of text to spellcheck. And the strandless isn't really another race, and they don't have any missions so I didn't bother.

it's like using a players guide.

Badminton Overhead Clear: Get under and slightly behind the falling birdie. Have racket ready in backswing position. Extend racket toward sky and contact shuttle at highest point. The racket face should be open. Snap wrist forward on contact. Shuttle should fly to your opponent's backcourt. -- shayborg's tip of the week

    • A shame to see another site which unreservedly describes the scoutship as the ship you should go for after the shuttle.

The UE Transporter has better shields and armour, flies faster , has more cargo space and a larger crew. The only things going for the more expensive scoutship are that it can have more front-mounted weapons (but then, so can a Krait) and it's got big fuel tanks. I recommend it only for first-time players who don't know the galaxy well enough to find an inhabited system before they run out of gas.

It would be nice to see the transporter shown in a better light at the Infocenter... and at your place too, Shayborg.

I got this .sig file at insanely_great.com - don't even think about taunting me!

    • I prefer the Scoutship. I like the turning and acceleration, and it's great for
      defeating human renegades and Voinians.

The Transporter's good if you want to destroy some NT or ST renegades, with it's
      high armour rating.

I don't know; for me, the priority is always exploration when I'm starting out a game, and that's why the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard1.html#scoutship")scoutship(/url), especially when tricked out with a fuel scoop or two, seems to be a better choice to me with its 8 jumps of fuel standard. It helps you get acquainted with the game faster -- and by the time you've explored enough that you're acquainted with the game, doing all the missions you find in the process, you should have enough money to buy a better ship. In addition, the scoutship has better acceleration and turning -- good for avoiding renegades -- and the extra gun slot you deride can be useful. Also, it has more free space (although, I admit, that can be taken up by the turret you'll almost certainly need to buy unless you, like myself, love the autopilot button :)). Of course, if you're hell-bent on living an insular lifestyle, by all means, go for the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard1.html#transporter")transporter(/url). I won't argue that it's not a better ship, but for new players, the scoutship is better.

Hmm well I suppose you present some good points. I still find the scout a better ship all around though. In my next update I'll mention your arguements.

As for the links I'll put them up, of course I would appreciate you guys doing likewise. I'll probally update today or tomorrow, depending how lazy I am.
