    • Renegades...

Are there any missions where you work for the renegades? If so how do you get them?

"You have committed a fatal error and your existence must be terminated." Windows error message.

    • You can do some missions for the Captains of Freeport (human renegades). First, don't free huron. Secondly, get a bad legal status in the Iothe system and then bribe your way onto Iothe prime. In the bar you can get the first renegade mission provided your legal status is low enough.

There are also some missions for the North Tip Renegades, though they aren't as extensive as the Human renegade missions. I believe you can get them at Hizdriar (at least that's the one place I was offered it. I've only been offered it once, and I was playing on the Zacha side at the time, so I've never done the North Tip Renegade missions.)

      Good luck!

"We're sorry to learn that you soon will be dead,
But though you may find this slightly macabre,
We prefer your extinction to the loss of our job."

    • Yep, for the north tip you need to get an 'offender' type rating in Hizdriar then land there.. that mission string ends with Outpost Zachit being destroyed.

      ------------------

    • Yeah...I did the NT Renegade mission string, and it ends with Outpost Zachit being destroyed. I haven't done the South Tip though, since I already did the 'Huron Independance' mission string.

My question is, if you work for the renegades, will they still shoot at you every time you see them?

I'm not sure... in EV I killed a bunch of Confed ships near a pirate system, and they stopped shooting at me (there).

    • First, unfortunately there is no mission string for the south tip renegades - I guess they're just not organised well enough, and there's little that they could do of note anyway.

Second, if you do the human renegade missions, the human renegades in the Riomor, Yelts and Pariah systems will stop attacking you, and will give fun greetings if you communicate with them :). But human renegade ships anywhere else will still go after you. Similarly for the north tip ones, they'll stop attacking you in Hrekka and DSN-2109, but nowhere else.

      ------------------

    • Hmmm, i'm gonna have to go back and do those missions so i can see what these fun comms are.

FLOBBLEDEEFEE, that's what we said when we were mad or frustrated, we said it because we were idiots. A bunch of inbred, illiterate, cro-magnons, blowin' our noses on crusty handkerchiefs, waiting in line for our heads to burst into flames. That's the way it was, and we liked it!

    • I've been trying to get to a renegade mission for a while, but I'm having a really hard time pissing of Iothe Prime, even though I have destroyed their militia, as well as traders and any other ships that come into the system...I still have a status of decent individual in the Iothe system....can anyone tell me how to lower my status for Iothe Prime in order to get the renegade missions?

    • Or start a new pilot and make them mad while you're still clean.. I assume you're trying after having worked for UE some?

      ------------------

    • No, I started a new pilot...haven't even accepted the first UE shipping offer. But I'll just keep trying. Maybe it takes a while. It probably doesn't help if I blow up the renegades that attack me while I'm in the system, either. Thanks for the suggestions 🙂

Well, if you work for the Human Gades, pretty soon you should gain a good rating with them. Although your legal status in a Renegade system is always classified as N/A, once you do good things for them their systems should turn blue. When they are you know they're friendly; no Gade ships will attack you in that system and you'll be able to land on places like Freeport without bribes. So yes, it is entirely possible to get onto a friendly basis with them. To maintain it never attack Renegade ships (certainly not near any Renegade ports, anyway) unless you are told to in a mission, and always attack anything not Renegade. Destroying militia ships, merchant ships, and especially UE ships will ensure that you maintain your good status.

Here' the kicker, though. I've found that sometimes, even after working for the HR, there are some Renegades that will still attack you. Some Renegade vessels are "psycho", meaning they attack anything they see. In the Human Renegade missions, you get a mission to destroy a Turncoat classified in this way. I haven't played the HR missions enough to know if you eventually get negative status by blasting those or not outside of missions. If so that can be a downer, but at least within and in close proximity to Renegade bases you shouldn't be attacked.

Oh, BTW, there is a plug titled "Captains of Freeport" which serves as an extension to the HR missions. I think its a tad buggy (unless its been upgraded since I played it a long time ago), but still worth a shot.

Finally, just to confirm what others have said, you DO need to have negative legal status in the Iothe system to get the HR missions. Get offender or criminal status and a decent combat rating, bribe the planet and land, then check out the bar. Hopefully, you'll be approached.

Demand tribute. That will annoy them.

Ah. Where would I find such a plug. I feel a sudden urge to shoot everything in sight. It relives the frutration of the Crew of One Challenge. I MUST have an auto-eject. Why oh why did they leave that out of EVO? <Dramatic, suicidaly depressed sob>
