I'm not sure what is wrong, but after I delivered the marines for the Hinwar mission, nothing happened. I can't get any other UE missions (except attack a voinian warfleet and the like). I can't get the marine mission again. Is there anything I can do to remedy this? I downloaded the pilot file editor but I have no idea what I need to change. I would really like to solve this problem without starting a new pilot, because this is the last of the central objectives I need to finish.

Never mind, do what UEC said... I was thinking about the wrong mission, I guess...

Nothing is wrong, you're just looking in the wrong place. At this point, you can't advance by hanging out in UE territory. Check out Krotun in Voinian space if you haven't met the Rebels there yet.....its only 2 jumps from Obron, where you landed the marines. Be sure to check out Obron's bar before you go.

If you have done this already, then do what Shayborg said.

If it doesn't show you that your carring them you need to abord the mission and get it again. This happend to me and I got realy mad because I distroyed all the ships (that was realy hard) and it still wouldn't work.

Maybe I should explain my problem more thoroughly:

I landed the marines at the station. Then I left and had no active missions. I can't land anywhere in Voinian space (i.e. Krotun) to meet with the rebels. I can't get the marine mission again. I can't get any UE missions anywhere. I have no missions to abort.

I think somehow my pilot file got confused as to what missions I completed and now I can't advance in the UE string.

Is there any way to remedy this at all? I have the pilot file editor, but I have no idea where to start to give myself the mission again.

Things like this have happened to me before. Did you get some kind of message as soon as you landed on the outpost saying the marines were taking over, or just nothing at all? If you got the message, then you have completed the mission and need to find the next one. But if nothing happened, then you didn't do everything you needed to do, meaning a Voinian ship probably got away. In this case, abort and go back to where you got it and you should be able to get the mission again. This time, when you think you've killed all the Voinian ships, hit "tab" repeatedly to cycle through all the ships in the system and make sure no Voinians are left. Also, you have to DESTROY all the ships, so make sure you haven't left any disabled. Then land the marines and you should be fine.

Nothing to abort, you say, go to the system with Krotun. There should be three stellars: two planets and a moon, I think. I believe you can land on one of them even if it is Voinian space. If not, go back to Obron. Check your starmap, if you completed the mission, Obron should have changed to a UE system when you jumped out of it. Land at what is now Outpost Sigma and go to the bar, where d'Erlon might have another mission for you. If this doesn't work, try Earth and Luna.

Thanks for all of your help, but what happened was I completed the mission but never went to outpost alpha to meet up with d'Erleon again. As soon as I went there everything was fine.

I'm a total space cadet (no pun intended).

So that's what it was. Coincidentally, I just got to that mission too, and it's been so long since I played it last that I couldn't remember what to do. Problem solved for me too!
