I need to know how to hail my escort. Can anyone help?

Lets see...Last time I remember, I think you held down the option key, then tab to target your escorts. At first, you might start targeting other ships in the system, but if you keep pressing option tab over and over, (that is, if tab is your normal target select button) your escorts will eventually be selected with a green grid around them. After you have them selected, press your normal hale button, and they will come up on screen. Hope it works!

Same with fighters. I like to disable my paid escorts (after releasing them) and taking them over. Then I have unpaid escorts who work just as hard

Hmm....all my escorts are all captured....I don't think I hafta pay them, but I haven't checked in a while. Even if I hafta pay my escorts, every time I leave a port or enter a system I get paid, so if I do pay escort fees, I get paid back with my tribute money :D.

Do you mean you find it harder to destroy defense fleets? in EV, when I first started taking planets, I only demanded tribute at independent planets, since they attained the infamous Defender.
