    • Guided Weaponry


      I have recently upgraded EVO from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2, I never updated until I corrupted my data trying to make a plug-in, but thats another story for another day.

      ANYWAY, in the game, guided weapons....aren't guided. I've noticed that SAD, SAE, Pursuit, and Needle Weapons will sometimes just spin around in circles until they hit something or burn out. SAD and SAE do this, so maybe I should rename from from Seek and Eliminate/Destroy to just Eliminate/Destroy. 🙂 Is this part of EVO 1.0.2? Or is something wrong?

    • ehhhmm... it's not a bug. They just changed how effective the rockets/modules are. Plus, lots of ships are equipped with the ECM systems (and the Ziggy ECM), which makes it even harder to hit them. Just a suggestion, but use a fighter bay as a secondary weapon. Much more useful.

      In a new plug that I'm working on, I made it so that Hunter Missiles have smarter guidance computers. However, while fighting the Voinians, as soon as the UE ships fired their Hunter Missiles the missiles just spun around, and I know the Voinians don't have ECMs.

      Very true. Whil making some plug-ins with the bible, there are two kinds of Seeker Weapons. One is Dumb Homing and the other is Smart Homing. Kind of an oxymoron because the Smart Homing weapons aren't smart (they're the ones who spin 'round and 'round), and the Dumb one go directly to their targets. Wierd :).

    • Yeah I don't think it's ECM effects I've been seeing. The Pursuit Missiles are "famous for their amazing highly intelligent seeking systems and can even avoind a desne asteroid belt". Yeah, intelligent alright, I always use my spin-around-in-circles-until-it-burns-out pursuit missiles to save the day.

      Also, Carnotaur, in your plug-in for the smart hunter missile, I reccomend keeping it the same speed, but accuracy of the non-circle pursuit missile 🙂

      All I changed was one thing; the type of homing for the Hunter Missiles. Nothing else.

    • So everyone has seen this oddity? I noticed one other annoying thing: Many times, not all times, the SADs and SAEs have tracked me (player) very well even though I have an ECM. I don't have the Zid ECM yet though cuz' I recently started a new pilot. I may be halucinating, but never once has any SAD I've used tracked a renegade even though theirs track me very well. Oh well.
