      A couple of days ago, I made a plug for EVO. It added some ships and outfits. I'm working on the second version of it now, but I've come across a problem. I want the new ships only to appear after you've done a certain mission, but they appear before the mission is finished, not in the shipyard, but in the systems. I read the EVO Bible, and found some insight to this, but I don't have the right field for doing what I want. I have Res-Edit 2.1.3, EVO 1.0.2, and the EV/O templates. Perphas the templates aren't u to date! Help me please! For anyone who wants to know, it is the UE Phase II plug-in, which in on the add-ons page.

      I can't answer your question, sorry! I suggest that you post a copy of it on the board called 'EV Developers' Corner'. That's where the dudes who know about these things hang out, and they don't bite! Don't be put off by the 'EV' in the title - it's frequented by people talking about all three versions of Escape Velocity.

    • Hmmmm...You know, I'm really not sure. I've tried doing the same thing, but never really figured it out. I never really went anywhere with making plugins myself, anyhow. I'm sure you have to use some sort of mission string combined with the ship data and all. If possible, you could load EVO into ResEdit or something, and see how the game programs you to only have access to ships such as the UE fighter and such after certain missions. But for all I know, all that data might be in hex code. That's all I can really say.

    • I would suggest scrutinising the UE cruiser's data. You never see one of them flying aroudn until you've rescued Anna Balshova. A bit must be set somewhere which means that fleets including the ship can then appear in systems with a certain government.

    • I would advise the Miranu Gunship as it appears in missions later on and you NEVER see a UE Cruiser flying around even after you complete the mission

    • Actully, I have looked at the UE Crusier, and saw nothing special. Since the sreach is down :frown:, I will have to figure it out by myself. I will try looking at the EV Developers board, and hope to find your help. Thanks for your help!

    • Both the Miranu Gunship and the UE Cruiser are activated by completing missions. This is defined by the mission bit set in completion, and the entry for the përs ship's MissionBit. Believe it or not, the UE Cruiser does show up when you complete the UE missions. Since it is a përs, it shows up very rarely, and only in UE space. A better way to do it is with the Visbit. You basically make two similar systems in the same place. When the appropriate mission bit is set, one appears, and the other vanishes.
