BTW, I was wondering if you were planning to reserve any spots for Independent systems (i.e not dole <sp> all of them out to the big 7 on the team). You could assign the extra systs/spobs to people not on the team for each to create an independent syst/world, resulting in many ideas based on the same tech, such as EV's galaxy. I would be a hell of a lot of work to organize, but it would be cool. Especially if each contributer got a pers reasource to play with

I hate to crash your party, and cause a few suicides, but did you hand out STR's as well? Or else everyone will start w/the EVO equivilent of 1 and you'll have a real headache re-numbering them all.

To avoid another headache, you might want to ask M Burch about the ways you can create plugs (special new fields, etc) w/EV3. Having the extra info somewhere would make the EV3 port a LOT easier.

If you do decide to hand out some planets for people other than the Big7 to create independant systs, count me in. I'm sure I could make a few w/out graphics.

P.S. You better ask everyone what bandwidth they have, so you can split your section of the plug into several plugs for sending to the other B7 members.

f you mean like ship and outfit names, those are determined by the ship and outfit ID#s, if people follow the guidelines there should be no problem.

Hey, I'm back!

Anyway, I've been thinking of a Great Master Plotline/Backstory for the plug-in, and I think I've got one.

It all takes place in the Origional EV universe, but with a few twists. <clears throat>

The year is 24XX (insert exact year here), two hundred years after the Galactic Civil War. Durring the war, the Rebellion was crushed by the mighty Confederate forces, but at a terrible cost to the Confederacy. Just as the Warships of the Confederacy closed in on the Rebellion Capital world of Palashife, the Rebellion used their last-ditch plan to stop the Confederacy. The Rebels launched a salvo of Nova-Class Sub-Space Implosion missiles towards Earth, completely destroying the planet. This move sent the Confederates into dissaray. Who would have known that the Rebels would use such a desperate measure against the Confederacy? In a fit of retaliation, the Confederates unleashed thier own nuclear arsenal against the Rebels, destroying the Rebel worlds of Palashife, Clotho Prime, Sirgil III, and Armstrong. The Rebelion was crushed, but the damage was done.

The Confederacy was dying.

In the years that followed, most higher social structure and technology broke down, and pirates raged unchecked.

The Years of Chaos had come.

This lasted for a full hundred and fifty years, untill the seven strongest nations rose to power, conqureing or enveloping the smaller governments untill they each claimed a portion of the mighty Confederacy's former space.

how about instead of pirates you have a big powerful organized geurilla/pirate group. their ships would be simple heavly upgraded civillian freighters and light warships...is anyone gonna bother signing up at captain scurvy's webpage? or is there an official one now?

If you didn't read all the messages, you don't know what's going on There is already a "raider" government, the Arvadians, which fills the role of the pirates/renegades. Many people have signed up on Scurvy's web page, but since he has never updated it, no one knows who they are. The latest discussion is generally on OctoberFost's Message Board

I think the most major problem I see is that at the moment we have one or two alien governments planned: the Arvadians and maybe the Pavonians. I'm not clear about whether the Pavonians are or not.

Also, if nothing remains of the EV governments, it seems unnessesary to use the same galaxy. We could just use a similar history for our human governments rising out of the ashes of different human conflict, more specifically suited to the human governments we're planning.

Thirdly, we're planning a much larger galaxy than either the EV or EVO one. If we use the EV worlds, they would only be a portion of space.

However, I could go for the idea that the EV worlds are now the "independant" worlds of the 1000 worlds galaxy. A small section of space, at the heart and/or origin of humanity.

About the aliens or humans thing, I think it would be awkward having only 2 alien races. Stormbringer's race (the religious one) should be alien as well. The Pavonians would do better as aliens then as humans, in their creator's opinion...

Really? That hadn't occured to me. Maybe you and Cinga should get together and decide what to do about that, he's been talking about how much he wants all governments to be humans. Perhaps the two of you can combine the aspects of humans and aliens that you each want and work out a compromise that the rest of the team would accept.

Just a caution: if you want this galaxy to be part alien, you should probably make sure that the rest of the team knows it. People have been talking for a long time about making this an all-human galaxy. The decision hasn't been made yet, but eventually we'll have to straighten this out.

Disagree. There could be one alien race, or two, or none, or they could all be aliens. EV got along fairly well with only one non-human race, A number of fictional galaxies have been populated entirely by humans. This plug-in universe can be anything the designers care to make it, including one that has no humans at all.

My personal preference, given the way this plug seems to be shaping up, would be an all-human galaxy.
