    • out of gas

Playing Frozen Heart, I have run out of fuel and don't have a scoop. Even at 2x's game speed, no other ships seem to be coming into the system where I'm stranded, that I can buy from or steal from. Is there any way out of this dilemma? Are all systems eventually visited by some passing ship or the other? Should I sit tight for an hour of real time?
I don't really want to lose this ship, nor start a new a game from scratch.
      Any suggestions?

    • Unless you have landed on a planet in that system the game is not yet saved at the point where you are. Quit the game and then start it again. You'll be at the last place you took off from.

      That oughta lower my karma.

    • No, he's not screwed unless he landed somewhere while he was out of fuel. If the game hasn't been saved then he can still just quit the game and then he'll be at the last planet he took off from.

If he's landed on a planet where he's stuck though and there really aren't any ships there, then he's royally screwed.

    • He can crack open the s˙st rescource in ResEdit and change the düde settings.

    • I don't think he's looking for resource solution though. The simplest way is to just quit and you'll start back up at the last place you landed. Simple, it works, and if you don't know ResEdit (if you do know ResEdit then sorry for assuming you don't) then editting s˙s resources won't mean much.

    • You could use the savefile editor utility Ace to give yourself a full fuel load.
...or you could accept that you have made a mistake which, in reality, would cost you your ship, if not your life. I think you'll get home safe if you can fire off your escape pod.
If you don't have a fuel scoop, and you're not in a ship with a solar panel, you won't be able to amass any fuel in a deserted system. Sorry dude.

    • Thanks, forge (sorry about no puce)-
it was clever advice, but I'd already landed on the godforsaken planet- I decided to play as if for real, sacrificed the ship and podded back to Thallos. Next time I'll be sure to get a scoop no matter what.
