Hi MiMe, Welcome to the boards. There are no choises to be made in the standard version of PoG, only in the Trinity plug-in as Patrick has said. With Trinity, as you start the game you are asked whether you want to be a Swordsman, Ranger, or Conjurer. Swordsman is most like the character in the standard version but he cannot use ranged weapons (i.e. bows) and he gets the option of increasing his stamina or strength every few levels. Ranger learns to mix field ingredients to make potions which do things like slow down or poison foes or make him temporarily stronger. Conjurer is weaker than the others but he learns to cast spells to his advantage. (Even more so with Stark Bledfast's plug-in Spells Expander which I highly recommend.)
You need the latest version of PoG (1.0.2) to make all of this work. You can download Trinity and all the other plug-ins (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/vftp/show.pl?product=pog&category;=*&display;=date&page;=1")here.(/url) Good luck with your game. (BTW, your second post was not needed, we would have seen your first. It's just that there are not as many on the board on Sundays) ~RD

My Doctor said I was having too much wine, women, and song - so I gave up singing because 2 out of 3 is not so bad.
The (url="http://"http://mywebpage.netscape.com/rduckfwj/pog/mapnotes.html")Kingdom of Garendall(/url) sectional map is easily printed from gif format pages.
Find those areas you missed the first time around. You'll want to explore those hidden areas now made accessible with Spells Expander.
