    • Where do I offload my fighter bays?

I have managed (with the help of my children using my pilot) to gather two fighter bays (UE & Krait) and 40 fighters on each. My daughter informs me that I need to get to the planet where they were purchased & sell them there, but she doesn't know where they were purchased.

Does anyone know where to sell my UE fighter bay & my krait fighter bay?

For that matter, is there a listing of what's for sale where?

      thanks!

As for where you can sell the bays, I'm not too sure. However, I believe there is a list and description of all of the outfits in the game available to download in the "Guides" section of this site. Maybe that would help.

    • 40 fighters eh.... And you wanna SELL the bays? Arrr...
I have a cool trick for you if you want money... launch as many fighters as you can until the limit of the system (or game in this matter) is reached... those are about 20-30 fighter depending on size... no go to any planet and demand a tribute... only one ship will come out if you're lucky, hail the planet again and... BAM! you got yourself a planet... This works on everyplanet so you won't NEED to sell them if you get 100 000 credits a day!!

      ------------------
      Arrrrrr!!!

    • Yeah, really.... don't sell the bays. You have a godly ship if you have that many fighters. I assume you did it by using a tractor beam to get UE fighters back to their motherships and then boarding and stealing ammo? How did you do it for Kraits? Do they even have armor??

Anyway.... as for your question. UE Fighters can be sold in most UE worlds. However, you'll have to get to a certain point in the UE string, first.
As for Kraits.... they show up on renegade planets. Try freeport.

    • Hmmm. I'm hearing "don't sell the bays; use them to your advantage."

This may be a newbie thing, but I can't make these goofballs fight. When I'm entering a troublesome system, I'll launch a handful of fighters & jump into the fray. The kraits sit there & look stupid while I get blown to smithereens.

The reason I was looking to sell the bays & the fighters is because I'm gunless: not a single "primary weapon" and the two fighter bays are the only "secondary weapons." Because I'm in a small ship (pardon: I don't know what it is, but it's fast!), the system won't let me add guns or missiles or bombs or nuthin! Maybe it's too much testosterone or something, but I like having some guns when I go into a battle. Particularly if my friggin' fighters are sleeping at the guns!

Is there a secret code that says, "Go get 'em, boys, and bring their leader's head on a silver platter!"?

Thanks! You guys (generic term there) are great!

      ------------------

    • Fighters do not act like escorts... they are under your control, you must instruct them who to attack. So, press tab (cycle through ships in the system) until you find the one you want attacked.... launch your fighters, and then the magical code you mentioned is the "F" button. (that's the default, can be changed in preferences). the V button will make them hold position, the C button will make them return to you, and if you press option-C, they'll return to your fighter bay.

That many fighters can be better than any primary or secondary weapon you can have 😄

      Peace.

    • First of al why do you wnat to seel the UE bay? THe kirat bays really stink! I mean really! It is not possable to sell the UE fighter bays because you are never allowed them in the first place. The Kirat fighter bays are easy to sell just go down into south UE space bribe your way into the reingade world and sell away. Pardon are you in thewrong web board. This is hte EVO web board. YOU must have downloaded a plug to a pardon (What ever it is).

As for the UE you can downlaod a plugin called EV cheater and sell it that way. 🙂

    • If you do want to sell the bays, here's how you go about doing so:

Go to Freeport in the Riomor system (it has most of the pirate things) and you can sell your Kraits and the related bay there.

To sell the UE Fighters you need to complete some of the Dreadnought mission string which allows you to purchase UE ships and their hardware (UE Fighters). I'm assuming you've done that much to get a UE ship, but I suppose you might have captured one.

Go to a UE planet that has a "good" outfitter to sell your UE Fighters. Downside in any case is that the UE Fighter Bay cannot be sold, it is a permanent part of any ship that carries it.

Couple of these things have been brought up in the post, but this is just putting them all together along with some other info.

For one thing, I can tell immediately that you are in a UE Cruiser or UE Carrier, or you have been using a cheater. The UE Fighter bay cannot be bought or sold. It is only found on the UE Cruiser and UE Carrier. However, if you wish to sell your fighters, don't. Keep them. They don't take up space, and they help defend you and give you a better trade in.

But then again, how on earth did you get 40 fighters? You must either be using a cheater again or have found out some way to get those 40 fighters. Also, if you DO sell them, then you'll have to repeat the long process all over again. You see, you are only supposed to be able to get 5 UE Fighters at one time. Once you sell those 40 fighters, then you can't replenish them.

However, you CAN buy the Krait bay. Just go to any Renegade station or planet (I also think Iothe might have some) and you'll see a Krait bay. Just sell the bay. Keep the fighters (even though they are useless without a bay, but they give you a good trade in value).

P.S. Oh, and uh, Gorgon, he isn't in the wrong webboard. The UE are in EVO, not EV. Why did you think the UE were in EV (If I got what you meant right)?

    • I know for a fact that all renegade technology can be sold at New Alcatraz in the Pariah system, Freeport in the Riomor system, and Gorky in the Yelts system, and that includes the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/dsghosh/evosite/shipyard1.html#krait")krait(/url) bay. You can sell the krait bay at any of the above places. As for the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/dsghosh/evosite/shipyard1.html#uefighter")UE Fighter(/url) bay, it can never be sold. It can't be bought in the first place...bob, you either have a (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/dsghosh/evosite/shipyard1.html#uecarrier")UE Carrier(/url), (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/dsghosh/evosite/shipyard1.html#uecruiser")UE Cruiser(/url), or your kids used a cheat. I checked in ResEdit, and the tech level for the UE Fighter Bay is 32767--the same as marine gear. In other words, it can't be bought or sold. I hope that answers your question satisfactorily.

    • Well, this has been most interesting. It appears that I've been performing miracles. I did indeed end up with both bays & 40 fighters in each and in a non-UE vessel. Unfortunately, I forgot its name (it's not Avera -- that's another Ambrosia Game -- but it's something like that: small, fast, green & pointy). I don't think she used cheats to get it, but I could be dreaming.

Thanks for all the help. I've since learned how to make use of all those fighters, and had myself some lovely air battles! Wow! Definately more fun!

The name's (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/dsghosh/shipyard3.html#arada")Arada(/url). Great ship. I just started a new pilot file, and I have enough money to buy any big ship, but can't get myself to part with this one. I don't know how I brought myself to buy my current (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/dsghosh/shipyard3.html#cresw")Crescent Warship(/url) (in my other pilot file) in the first place. This thing is great! • by the way, your kid definitely cheated. there's absolutely no way you could get a ue fighter bay on an arada, and there's no way you could fit both the krait and ue fighter bay on even if you could buy it. i wonder how she did it.

      ------------------

    • She could be using a plug-in which allowed you to purchase the UE fighter bay. However, I still don't see how you could fit all that into an ARADA??? It may have 80 tons of free space, but I still don't think that's enough.

    • Weeeeeeeeeeeeell, maybe if they used EVO 1.0 and exploited the Mass Expansion bug/feature to the max? Y'know, buy Expansion, fill with gear, sell Expansion, repeat?

    • Sell the krait bay at freeport, but you can't sell a ue bay. 4o fighters? methinks someones been cheating. Look man don't cheat, it totally messes the game up.

PS use strict play. It adds a large element of skill 🙂

Hard to tell exactly what he's trying to say, but I can decipher that he said something to the effect of "wrong board." 🙂 No, you're on the right board. UE Fighters and Kraits are EVO.

And yes, those kids were naughty. They used some cheaters beyond any doubt. There's no other way to get a UE Bay on an Arada, much less both a UE Fighter Bay and a Krait bay.

And I believe someone said earlier to use this to your advantage and demand tribute. Here's what you do (so that one by one, planets will start paying you):

      1. Go to any system with an inhabited planet or station.
      2. Release all your fighters, or as many as possible.
      2. Select the planet or station (press L) and press Y to communicate.
      3. Click "Demand Tribute."
      4. If you're lucky, only one ship will come out. Destroy it.
      5. If you're REALLY lucky, that will be the only ship that comes out.
      6. Whatever happens, if after a while, no more ships have come out of the planet to destroy you, then press Y again to communicate with the planet, and click "Demand Tribute" again. Voila! The planet will begin paying you a small amount of money (a few thousand credits) per day. The only downside: some bounty hunter's gonna be out to get ya.

      Enjoy!
