Ok, Everyone's always telling anyone who asks questions to "Search Then Ask". I've tried this search thing, and a lot of the time all I get back is garbage. Isn't that the point of a webboard? Or at least part of it. There are always new poeple joining who have no way of knowing which questions are new and which have been posted a lot. But if you are tired of all these questions, then just ignore them.

Good points, all of them. There are some questions that are covered in the board guidelines (such as don't ask about it being ported to PC) which I can understand people getting pissed at.

On the other hand, I don't like the Search Then Ask crap either, so kudos for you and this post.

there's two types of 'search then ask' peeps out there:

1. yells at you and thats it

2. tells you to search and gives you a hint for the question you are asking or for what to search about

then there is the person who just tells you what you need to know.

SO, if you don't wanna answer a question and all you want to say is 'search then ask' don't! Just let someone else give them an answer if you are to snotty to help a newbie.

It's not the repetative questions that bug, it's the people who insist on responding and saying something along the lines of..."search then ask" or something like..."idiot...this has been asked sooo many times"...or "I dunno..." or something utterly stupid. One answer...done deal. That way, there WON'T be any of this "search then ask crap"...=)

And on subject: I think you should search at least a little bit; if you don't get something on your first or second search, then go ahead and ask. It's just that older people are getting kinda impatient with the same questions over and over and over.....

However, people shouldn't post if they're not actually going to be helpful. If you're fed up with the question, DON'T RESPOND. Simple as that.

We told them the answer and then told them they could get it even easier if they used the search function.. Flatty was way better at it too... and now he's gone?

Has anyone noticed how no mods have looked at this post? hmmm... yas searching first dose not allways come up with the right answers, but this is because you aint useing the right keywords. And, if your like me, and couldn't give a rats a... well, don't care much for putting all the search criteria in, then asking is the best way in my view. It's just that many EVO 'know-it-alls' find that they don't like the same queastions being asked over and over. Mind you, some of them do still help. To those that do, I say thanks, to those that don't, fine. Be difficult.

And I tried searching for the Drednaught Capture thing, as an experiment to see how well the search worked. I typed in "Dreadnaught". I got some post with people writing in as many forien languages as they could think of.

As for that language thing, I got that, ok I change my mind. The search engine on this thing is ****. I searched for 'crecent' to find out about the CW and got that language thing. what a waste of time, but i did find some other ones though.
