I just got the idea from Cinga's new plug (which, I recommend highly, go check it out...)..

Anyway, when you make new ships, you have to have graphics for them at every possible turn angle, correct? And from the ones Cinga has up, they're all the same color.... now, what if you were to make different colored ships at all the turn angles (but, they'd still be the graphic data for the same ship)... would that mean that in the game you'd have a ship that changes color whenever it turns around? and even better... one that changes shapes too????

I did something similar to that about a year ago. I made a weapon which fired cloaked torpedoes; their graphics were entirely black expect for one turn degree. It was cool, but disconcerting and sucked ifyou were at the wrong end of one...

You could make a "horrible gelatinous blob" ship that wobbles rather than rotates. Sort of a giant space amoeba. Heh, I could take that into Advance, to roam the desolate uninhabited systems on the very edge of known space.

Have it fire a weapon that is like a streched, minature wersion of itself. Or beter yet, give it a fighter bay that launches ships like itself, which launch more ships like itself etc. so it divides like a bacteria (this was mentioned in some other thred)

Yea! Mix and match the aradas! Since there are 4 aradas simply make 9 frames of each, so when it goes north, it's a normal arada, when it goes east, it's an Izgadra arada, when it goes south it's an Azdgari arada, and when it goes west its a Zacht arada. Put this in the same plugin as "the blob" and you have one cool plug!

Okay, I've made a plug that does makes the "blob" appear in the most desolate reaches of space. I'll submit it to the Add-ons file as soon as I've given it the finishing touches. Watch out for the Space Amoeba's deadly Crystal Ray!

Absolutley. You could mage a ship that looks like a different ship for every angle. The ship picts are just rows of pictures with a spin file to show how long/high each picture is. It's the same with weapons. You could make a weapon's graphic spin continually (it's a flag in the resource that you can set, I think) and use photoshop to twirl(the filter) a few white lines. You'd end up with a gun that fires spinning vortexes.... Sadly, I can't do this, because whenever I move a Pict from my PC (which has Photoshop and Bryce4 to my Mac, it looks like S*it in EV/O. Serves me right for having a PC, I suppose.
