It's just something for developers to write on.

Actually, it's a weird sort of object that makes people come to this webboard and ask about it. Surprisingly, this happens quite a bit. So, I bet if you were to do a (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/search.cgi?action=intro&default;=8")search(/url) for "Council Station", you'd come up with the answer.

Cheese, the point is, you can only have 6 total escorts.

Maybe if you got fighters------------------

I found a way to get 17 direct escorts (not counting fighters that your escorts shoot out). First get 5 escorts by hiring or capturing ships. Then capture an Adzgari Warship, use it as your ship, and release all the Azdaras. After that, buy a Crescent Warship and get an Azdara bay. Release them all again. You should have the six new Azdaras you bought, the 6 other escorts that you captured, and the six Azdaras that you released from the Warship you captured. Those ones cost you 15,000 a piece, though. It might be possible to get more that way. At least that works on my ancient 1.0.0 vers. of the game.

You can get way more than 17 escorts. In fact, that's a way to easily conquer planets as well. Get a ship that has fighters. Now release all of them. Now find another ship that carries the same type of fighter. Disable the ship before it releases all of them. Now take it's ammo (the certain type of ship). Release these and repeat the process. DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE FIGHTERS RETURN TO YOUR SHIP!!! Keep doing this until you have 32 escorts (or whatever the ship limit is on a system). Demand Tribute and no ships will be launched from the planet. This is because they cannot breach the limit of ships in the system. Demand tribute again, and you have conquered the planet :).

How do you disable a ship before it sends its fighters out?

I know I could probably find this on search but I'm too lazy and since I'm not starting a new topic then it really isn't that much of a problem... My question: What plugs have expanded on the Council Station?

Well, it guest stars in Triple Agent, and plays a rather cool part in the conclusion of Beyond the Crescent. That's all I can remember.

Council Station is the headquarters for the Council, who are the fourth strand. They control the other three strands, making them fight to the death for entertainment!
However, that's just my opinion...

First off, you make sure its friendly to you before you attack it. Then you hit it with a LOT of firepower to disable it before it can launch its fighters.
Of course, there is another way of getting fighters off disabled ships, If you disable the mother ship and wait, eventually the fighters will return to it. This is best pulled off in major battles, when the fighters aren't attacking you.
-
Or...
Disable the fighters (assuming they have some armour - this doesn't work on Kraits, Crescent Fighters or anything of that kind)... and use your tractor beam to drag the disabled fighter graphic over the disabled mothership. The fighters are repaired, re-armed and stowed. This is very easy to do with UE fighters and their low-budget carriers. Only when the disabled mothership is full do you board it, and take 'ammo'.
I think I heard this doesn't do any good in 1.0.2 though... has anyone tried it recently? I seldom bother with fighters, so I haven't.

How can you hit something like a Crescent Warship with so much firepower that it's disabled before it launches its fighters? Impossible.
