How about a tips mill for all the new players of EVO?

Post your tips here. Here are a few of mine:

1. Straight away, go to Dogovor. Whatver side you are going to play on, destroy Voinian ships. Wait until a UE ship looks about to kill a voinian ship, go in and take the last shot. You will get to Ultimate combat rating very soon this way. If you work for the Voinains, don't worry, when you take their missions it goes clean with them (and a great boost if you work for UE).

2. A good first ship to get is a helian after the shuttle. It is as good as a freight courier and a quarter of its price.

3. If you are fighting UE geta crescent ship. The Voinian ships were built to be destroyed by the UE ships.

4. In the Paaren missions, go to Paaren. Go to the mission bar. If there's a Paaren station delivery, take it. If not, take any mission, and abort it straight away. It will reset the missions. Do this until you find a Paaren station mission, then until it is finished.

Those are just a few. Add more tips that you know!

Good idea.

1: The Elmalgian Freighter has capability to be a good fighter in the Crescent.It has armor and lots of space and a small price tag. Here is how i outfit it:

Dospect armor
1 Freighter to Warship upgrade
4 Phase Turrets
3 Speed upgrades
2 Fuel tanks
All Jammers
Iff decoder+Density scanner
4 swivel Phase cannons
Then use the rest of the space for Dispersal Rockets or Pursuit missles.

2: Go to Outpost Terapin in A UE Destroyer.Board disabled Azzie, Ziddy and Iggy Warships ans steal their credits and try to capture them- this is very good

Do the UE missions I believe they make more money in the long run. Phase turrets are worthless against armor so dont use crescent ships against voinions.

Phase turrets may be useless against armor, but that doesn't mean that Crescent Ships are......

It's not a screw-up. It's been done intentionally to prevent the player from making overly powerful ships. Although I was a primary maxxer myself in the early days, I think it's a good and necessary change. You might have noticed that no AI ship in EVO has more turrets and guns than there are slots, except for the Zidara (two turrets and two guns, but only 3/3 slots) and the Azdgari Arada (6 guns but only 4/1 slots), which are screwups.

To outfit your ship in that way, when no in-game ship can do it, is cheating. Heck, it would make the whole game a piece of cake if you could have 4 turrets and 4 swivel cannons on a Crescent Warship.

The EVO fixer is, quite frankly, a cheat plug.

And finally, the Emalgha Freighter is too darned slow for all but the most patient players.
