Can anybody give me some information on this weapon? I would assume that it is a turreted version of the Phased Beamer, but I'm not sure. Is the fuel-sucking ratio the same? How much damage does it do? I've heard that it is a weapon on the Z.S.S. Disruption, but I've never actually seen it.

Alrighty.... I somehow got it on a ship of mine (by switching plugs).... anyway... yes, it's thicker than the normal beam, and it is a turret... it also has quite a bit of distance. Here's a picture of how thick it is and what range it has (sorry about the info box, I can't take pictures in-game)

Anyway.... I don't have resedit values of the damage, but it's a pretty damn nice weapon, I must say. I'm sure someone else will follow this up with more specific info....

The phased beam and the phased beam turret are identical, except for a few details. The turret does twice the energy damage (or damage to shields). This is a ResEdit value, though, so it may not be exactly twice, but the turret does do more damage. The turret also has a bigger proximity radius. Those are the only two major differences.

Okay, I've made a little plug that makes the Phased Beam Turret buyable after the completion of the Zidagar missions. I think the turret itself is really sweet, probably the best thing out there for taking down Azdaras and big ships like the Aggie Warship and the Igazra. My graphics kinda suck though, but hey, they were made in WebPainter. The turret is still okay against Voinians, despite it's small armor damage.
