    • 2D eye candy, round 2...

Ok, I've got all the race's desktop pictures done except for the Mth'kly, I think. I've also cleaned them up (read: fixed where I wasn't coloring in the lines and such). Check em out (url="http://"http://www.meowx.com/quantumire/qdc.html")here(/url) and tell me what you think!

    • They're all to human IMHO. Very well done, but when they all have 5 fingers, 2 arms and 2 eyes in the exact spot on a head with a neck the human length, it looks...dunno. I don't think I could do better, so I'll congratulate you. Frelling good job.

Give the atlanteans a few tentacles, make the Tarkyll thinner, any you're golden.

      But I just love

    • I'd been seeing them as you were completing them...

Probably my favorite is the Atlantean, because I like it's shading the best. I like the humanoid form for the Atlanteans, because I believe they're supposed to be that way, and it looks kind of eerie in a reminiscent way.

      And, the Xrath looks c r e e p y. 🙂 How do they BUILD anything?

Probably my least favorite is the Scrieen. It looks way more brutish that I'd have thought they were. In my mind, they're very advanced - rothenblosts and organic armor - and woulnd't have expected them to look like a toothy, stout, very humanoid being. "Grok smash" comes to mind...I was thinking much more alien in appearance and actually not too physically strong. Of course, it is your plugin...

Both the Tarkyl and the Federation guy look rather brutish as well.

I wonder what Mth'kly look like. Cat-people come to mind...

    • Coloring/shading is nice...but CG could be better. Kinda jagged...

      Ok...a few suggestions.

Do you hand draw them tracing on a blank layer over a pre-drawn sketch or do you just draw them free-hand via mouse?
If you're tracing a pre-sketched picture...use the pen tool and plot yourself some paths then stroke those paths with either the air brush tool or the paintbrush tool...I think that will create a much smoother CG...if animation cells is the style you're using. If not...Ignore me...;)

      Here's a recent 1/2 finished creation of mine...=D

      Posted Image <---It's me 😃

The shading is about 1/2 way done everywhere except the hair. I'm still trying to get the cell perfectly rounded and smooth...which is quite hard.

      PEACE YO!

    • I liked Xrath. Atlantean and Outcasts look really like heroesof the Japanese animations, which I see everytime I switch TV, so I don't know if I liked them or not (probably no). And like Weepul, I thought the Screen guys were supposed to have more intellectual look.

    • Dang... I would NOT like to meet a Xrath OR a Scrieen in a a dark alley. And DEFENETLY not when they are together.

    • Or when they are fighting and decide to team up...

      SEARCH..... THEN...... ASK!!!!

    • The Xrath is pretty cool--it's my favorite. And the Scrieen is kind of scary. And the Atlantean is just plain weird. I guess that's a good thing...
All in all, very nice, and a few orders of magnitude better than anything I could make. 😉
