What do you mean, he didn't notice you attacked him? If he jumped out without letting you board, that's what he's supposed to do, since he's probably a wimpy trader. Of course, if you did board him, I have no clue what happened.

But you've got to disable the ship first (until the little aura around it turns gray, and it says disabled in its window at the right). Then it quietly sits still, waiting for you to board it.

I just spent half an hour turning around a miranu trader, trying to board it without disabling first. I am quite convinced you would have bursted out laughting, or should I say ROFLOL. It was actually pathetic from me, but the thing is, I do not have a weapon that will touch it.
The UE gun -> NO
Miranu phaser -> NO (I suppose this is precisely the point...)
Hunter -> NO
SAD -> No
I know, I am hopeless... but frustrated. :frown:
I have killed about half of the fleet of both Z and A to get that mission, but I always stayed in I space. Finally I decided to move North and got THE mission. And now I can't complete it. Call me Forrest Gump! (Sh*t happens)

How do you mean, the Miranu gun won't touch it? What happens, does your gun just do no damage? Elaborate, and I might be able to help you.
In this mission you are required to disable a Miranu trader and board it, then bring the Eels back. (I think.) Make sure that the Miranu trader you attack is called "target vessel." If it's not, then you are attacking the wrong ship. Blast it with your phase cannons or whatever you have until the box becomes gray and the ship starts floating in space. Then manuever your ship, as if to land on a planet, so that you are right on top of the other ship. Then press the B key. It should say something like, "you retrieved the river Eels from this ship" Then fly away snd deliver your cargo.

I have completed the game with UE and Miranu already, so I thought I started to know the game. But in this instance, I lock on Target ship, get close, fire at will (but ready to stop as soon as it becomes disable ... and nothing: the shields of the Miranu remain at 100%, nothing happens (except the bl***y ship runs away)
With a copy of my pilot, I tried with added UE guns in front, hunter missiles etc... NADA.
I am going to try to abort the mission and try again...

Yeah, abort the mission and try again. There must have been some kind of glitch. If it still doesn't work, well, I dunno. Are you running any dubious plugs? You know, plugs that sometimes make weird things happen that shouldn't happen? Maybe your pilot file has become corrupted. If that is the case, start a new one. Very, very strange.

At last, it worked yesterday evening : I binned the mission, then the pilot because an hour later the mission had not been offered again :frown:
Started from scratch with a shuttle, but it goes so much quicker when you know what to do...
Got the mission, and this time the Miranu was not invincible. Now my next mission is the most difficult one : "Leave that computer alone and get yourself a life"
Any hint?
Samurai, no plug involved. When I started the game I had them all (well, here I may be exagerating) but I prefer without, except for the extended universes, but they were out of the folder.
Hey don't get me wrong, some of the plugs are really awesome (at least to me, since I don't understand that programming thing).
If anyone wants to give me another hint, he (or she, but there ain't that many of the kind here) will be rewarded with an improved Karma : I am trying to find the Miranu (again) that went throught Zid and Azg space before coming to Igadzra, and that was last seen in Outpost Plogock. I have been running around in circle from Mark, having to fight in every system and with no luck.

Oh yeah, plug-ins rock! At least some of them do. Anyway, the Miranu are to the galactic North (above) of the UE core worlds. I still wonder what could have caused the glitch with the ivnc. miranu trader. I bet that your pilot file had accumulated bits and pieces of data from a bunch of different plugs. (That is called Plug lag, BTW) Such data bits remain even if the plug is removed. But hey, all's well that ends well, and I'm glad you got the mission to work correctly.

What I meant was a specific ship in the Igadzra string, when Medley ask you to get the Miranu ship that left Plogock station
It comes after the plasma thing (I'm trying to be specific enough for those who've been there, and vague enough not to spoil to much for the others...difficult)
Anyway, can't find the ship (and please believe me: I HAVE tried)

I think I know the mission. Are you hunting an Azdgari Warship called A.S.S. Delusions, or sonething? If so, the ship is in a system in south of Azdgari space. I think the actual system is called Kacca or Karra or something... hold on, let me check. Got it!! Racet. (Good old EVO developers map.) It's a tough fight, but I think with the help of the Plasma Siphon and phase weapons you should be okay. Good luck to you!

Samurai, thanks again for your help; but if you think the Delusion was a tough fight, wait for the last one of the string.
I would really be impressed if someone had completed in strict play : They killed me more than 10 times before I (barely) survived...
Then I headed for the Zachit to kill a few renegades and improve my status among the Z. and A., because I was anything from an Offender to a Galactic Scourge for them and they were attacking me on sight. The problem is, if they do that in Miranu space, and although you only fight in self defense, you become an Offender in that system... NOT right
Now things are slightly better, I am even Upstanding Citizen in 2 of their worlds...
I have read the posts about doing several strand strings. I wonder if TECHNICALLY it is impossible to have one after having completed another (without Triple Agent), or if it is only a matter of status, because that can change.

About playing for multiple strands, there's two ways.
1. Use the Triple Agent Plug
2. While you are doing one of the strand recruitment missions, accept a different
Strand recruitment mission. Example: accept the Azdgari mission from South Tip
Station and complete it while you are in the middle of doing the Igadzra rec.
mission. Then play both strings. There might be a few hitches, for example, you
might destroy a world in the Azdgari string that you needed in the Igadzra string.
Sadly, its not a matter of status only. All three strand rec. missions set the same
bit on completion. They also set a different bit that makes the next mission
available. If the former bit is set, you cannot accept any of the other rec.
rec. missions.

Incidently, it took me some time but I found my dream ship (oh no, not that ol' topic again!!!)
My Tequila Sunrise (because of the colour, and also because with that shape it has to be a **** ..tail) ROFLOL is an Izagra and it rocks. 3 Phase turrets, 2 neutrons turrets, 1 dospect armour (I haven't been able to get the other one yet), plasma siphon, UE cloacking device and all the bits, 1 SAE launcher, 1 engine upgrade, thrust upgrade, etc..., 4 shield enhancers...
It is still a little slow, but it rocks!!!
BTW, when you get to know and use the plasma thing, it rocks

And about the spoilers, I guess I haven't really had much of the newbie experience...when I first posted on the webboard, I'd been playing for four or five months already. I see your point.
