They wont change unless you find special potions that add to those stats. (these postions are also sold by a witch later in the registered game) Also if you use the Trinity plug (which is recommended) when you have the Swordsman, every (i think 3) levels, it lets you choose a stat. to upgrade.

    • Welcome to the boards, taug!

Are you refering to Undead protection, Mind protection, luck, marksmanship, and speed? If so, scattered around the world of Garendall, there are elixirs that, when consumed, increase individual stats by one point each. They are very rare, and the best chance to get one for free is to kill a Sea Giant. They are also more common in rock piles than in dirt piles and bags.

There is also a quest later in the game where an old man in Dernath will ask you to retrieve the eye of a cyklops for him. In return, he will give you an elixir of luck and an elixir of perception.

Another way to gain stats is to train with Septemris (1 map south of Fantrima). He will train you to become a page, a squire, and a knight (after performing special quests first, of course). After your training for each, you will gain stats. Advancing to Page will gain you 1 speed point and 1 dexterity point, the knight gives you 1 speed (I think) and 5 strength, and I can't remember what squire gives you.

The last way is to talk to Kalixa, a witch who lives on Witch's Finger on the western side of Garendall. She will sell you elixirs for very steep prices. Like, 2500-3500 per potion.

Good luck in your quests, and have fun.

    • thanks. thats a novel way of leveling a character, but sounds kinda cool. actually i kinda realized that my post was redundent, as i did a search for stats and found a bit of an explanation. sorry bout that.

i read in some random thread i clicked on that there is no further development being done on the coldstone engine. is this true? seems a shame, and i can see huge pontential for further engine development. like addition of dynamic lighting or shadows, alpha translucencies and such. as it is though coldstone looks like a cool development tool. i could even see it being used for the creation of multimedia presentations, with the use of menus and quicktime. does coldstone support flash content embedded in quicktime?

      ------------------

    • Another way to gain stats is to get weapons or items. i.e., The claymore of light or whatever gives 20 undead when in hands, the holy cloak does to, and the helden hat gives 50 mind when in use. Those are found in berglum. That is the only way I know to get undead or mind protection. Some weapons also give other stats (claymore of bear, 1 stregth, ect) about the coldstone thing, I thought they were making future development. Bummer. how old was this string? Hope I helped, Chrios

No, it's not true. CS is being updated constantly (we hope :D) and Dee Brown has stated that he would like nothing better than a CS 2, with added features, and such. Whether Beenox will carry through, though, is uncertain. But we all hope they will. And as for Flash, I think I can respond with a definite 'no.'

    • Hopefully there will be a CS 2.And hopefully registered users can upgrade.
P.S. shouldnt we move this talk about CS to somewhere else, like the Coldstone webboards, not taug's string about stats and pog?

Yes. The CS board is perfect for that.

    • Why is it that my swordsman can't sell exlixers to people???

There are two kinds of elixirs, the ones you buy, you can sell. The ones you find out in the world, you can't sell. I think its so that you can't get a ton of money if you happen to be lucky (or save reload cheat) at finding rockpile or chest elixirs.

    • You can sell stat potions. You can't sell stat elixirs. Or vice-versa. I can't remember. I've been too busy playing Deus Ex and EV:N to remember much about PoG.

    • What's the difference between stat potions and stat elixers?

Potions can be found in treasure chests, rock piles, cloth sacks, etc. and elixers are most often purchased from merchants. Objects which can be purchased can also be sold. Objects you find or are given (examples: Heldan's Hat, the Divine Lamp) are often not marketable. Some found items (weapons included) do have a sale value, however. They are the "exceptions that prove the rule".

I hope that answers the question

I'm sorry -esw-dragoon_77, but I said it correctly the first time. 😄 Go to Witch Finger and check it out. What she has to sell are elixirs, not potions. 😛 I did, however, mis-spell elixirs.

He is right, I checked it out too. At least I can sell rings for 6000 gold at Gywden Camp and Fungus's Getaway. That's a lot of gold if you haven't started fighting Sea Giants yet.
