Found a rather interesting bug in frozen heart in the forzen heart plug in that gives you free money!!

Fly to a system that has a shipyard and an outfitters (sol3 should do) - buy a rim prospector - then enter the outfitters - don't buy anything just leave immediately and go back to the shipyard - you will now notice that your rim prospector which cost you about 60k now has a trade in value of about 170k - buy a shuttle and the balance is credited to your account - keep doing this until you have enough money to buy whatever you want.

I'm kind of leaning towards leaving this in. Anyone clever enough to figure it out deserves to keep the money — plus the fact that the actual amount is insignificant later in the game.

No hacking or cracking was involved in finding this one - for all I know it may have been put in on purpose by the developmers for observant games to take advantage of.
I found this bug/cheat simply from playing the game - I noticed that tractor beams were on sale at gold rush in the Sirius system - as the tractor beam is only any use later in the game for combat with the hunter killers I decided that I should lose it - I then realised that the tractor beam costs more than the initial purchase value of the ship - so I started flying to and from gold rush buying prospectors and selling the tractor beam to make money - then I realised that I didn't have to - I could simply sell the ship after going to the outfitters and make a healthy profit that way.
Although you don't actually need piles of cash in Frozen Heart it is kind of fun to wipe the smile off the snobby Shipyard salesman and actually buy the Luxury liner just to wipe that stuck up expression off his face - (even though it is a pants ship).
Another tip - buy 2 0r 3 repulsors at gold rush - use them in combat with small craft like the buccaneers or ICAX - they will rarely get close enough to fire their weapons
For larger ships like the hunter killers use the tractor beam - if you time it right it will hold them in a position that is out of range of thier weapons but within range of your own allowing you to blast them at your leisure (note if you board one they generally carry between 500K and 1 mil - take a few out and steal their cash and you are well on your way to buying that TRIAC 8 missile jammer).

No, it wasn't intentional, though there are a couple of other things in there that are, because alpha testing a very long plug-in can get tedious if you can't speed through the cash problems.

Another interesting thing about using Frozen Heart, along with many other programs, is that certain bits of programming seem to remain trapped in the EVO game when used without plugs. For instance, I took out FH after beating it and started a new game of EVO without plugs. After a while I got the mission that will get you five hundred million credits in EVO without the plugs. Granted they sent about nine crescent warships after me and it took me a while to get the mission done with a scoutship, but it works. I thought it was even harder as played in EVO rather than FH.
