    • Paying Fines

Has anyone else had to pay a fine for "illegal possession of arms and armaments" (or something like that. I had to go to Paaren and pay 20% of my liquid assests or loose my UE space priviledges. In all the time I've been playing EVO, I've never seen this. Is it new to 1.02???

    • Tisk Tisk Tisk look's like someones been using some illegal weapons, you haven't been using any spacemines lately have you? This always happens to me when I use illegal weapons like spacemines.

      Hope that cleares things up!

    • If you really resent having to hand over 20% of your assets, consider using the credstick plugin. It was originally created to allow people to store money (by buying a mass-free accessory) to protect their wealth from Captain Hector... but it'd work for this, too.

If you can't be bothered to do that, at least get yourself a full set of crescent fighters, UE fighters, kraits, whatever else... just don't get the bays. It's a good way to carry around an extra million or so. Don't ask me how they're supposed to fit inside your ship, but they do!

Yes, it's new in 1.0.2. 1.0.2 added the ability for outfit purchases to effect
mission bits, so they also added this mission to show off the new capability.

The way the mission works is that it comes with a nice juicy +64 legal status,
and a -5x penalty for failure. So if you pay the fine, you gain a big legal bonus
within UE. If you abort the mission (don't pay) then you'll probably turn some
      systems red.

At first, I thought it was my phase turrets or the Dospect armor, but Ultimate Mercinary mentioned spacemines, which I did use. The ironic thing, I never technically used them. I mean, I bought them and tried to use them in "The Rock" mission in the M gunship string. But I died (and rather quickly). So either the game fined me for simply having space mines or it can keep take of usage in resurrected pilots.

Since the fine wound up cost me around 4 million credits, I suppose it would have been cheaper to let it lapse, turn UE space red and then go buy a fake ID on Gorky or Freeport.

But I'm an law abiding citizen.

Probably they will catch you eventually for using fake Ids what a waste of 1M (or I think it is 1M) 😄 also UE probably thought that if you brought space mines (or any thing else ;)) you intened to use them i.e. on them (eg they are paranoid :frown:)

The mission bit that activated the "pay fine" mission was set when you bought the god damn mines.

P.S. why did you buy them? space mines are COMPLETELY worthless....

They're not COMPLETELy worthless. Sure they're hard to deliver, but if you align just right and have perfect timing, one space mine will take out about a half dozen Crescent Fighters. 😄 Which is why I was trying to use them. Unfortunately, they are NOT effective when those fighters are all around you. 😉

They're also extremely effective when you're trying to dominate the Voinians while using the "Dominator" cheater/plug-in, i.e. the one that releases all 38 ships at once. 🙂

    • Try shooting a forklift at 4-5 Vonian fighters following you, it gives you at least a partial effect of what Ubermann said :D.

You use the forklift? That's just as bad as using a cheater plug. I don't really care, but you should try using the regular weapons, not from easter eggs, the game is more challenging that way.

ever try using them like the name implied? you can mine a planet and then 'call it out' for domination, annihilating the first few ships to come out. and if you make a field between you and the planet (in an asteroid free system and very carefully and quickly), you have a great barrier of protection. if you're lucky enough, you wont get touched for awhile. (may even be a good way do dominate the Council station.)

    • Speaking of the...erm...darned forklift, my brother always winds up using it.

One day I will creat a plug-in that set the forklift's ammo type to -999

    • Hmmm... if you can fit enough space mines to kill 32767crescent warships sure, sure you can do it.

You could put those fighters you were talking about in the cargo bay.
