    • Could I have a history lesson, please?

Where's Stardock Alpha? What happened to the other two planets in the Tau Ceti system? Why are there a lot more uninhabited/uninhabitable systems in the human sector of space? Where did that nebula in the bottome right cornor of the screen come from? Where did the original aliens from EV go to? Why does it seem that hyper space was only invented a few hundred years ago? I'm really curious about all this stuff...

    • EV and EVO are not set in the same universe. There is no common history, although, of course, some of the astronomy is the same.

This might seem illogical at first, but if you think about it, EVO would just have been another EV plugin if it had been substantially in the same universe.

Yeah, that's kinda what I had been thinking...

    • I think Ambrosia wanted to do a total change, painting a picture of a much darker, more violent universe in EVO.

In many ways, it's a more mature, independent product. Gone are the tributes to Frank Herbert, George Lucas and such, to be replaced by brand new world names which don't confuse matters. Human-Miranu politics is weird enough without throwing in the Ewoks as well! Wondering if the authors ever got into difficulties with copyright holders for the place names in EV, actually...

What I miss about EV, though, is the newscasts. They were much better than the EVO ones. Some corny, but some quite funny too.

Though there is the fact that about every 20th newscast somebody says the astroyed belt is finaly clear of mines from the battle of sol. Just imagin how they found that it wasn't clear that time. Add to that what would happen to the guy who said it was clear and it is a little bit funny.

    • I doubt that George Lucas even knows about EV, let alone cares. 😉

    • Just for the record, EVO actually takes place before EV. Odd, isn't it?
Well, not really, if you think about it.
