    • Matt Burch/Andrew Welch

First of all, I have a question about Matt Burch and Andrew Welch in EVO. How come both of their ships suck? Andrew is in a freighter with neutron turrets/cannons, and Matt is in a turncoat. I've destroyed both of them at least 3 times, I think an improvement necessary for EV3 is to put them in awesome ships that actually take a good ship to destroy.

Secondly, are all the Ambrosia people in on sort of government? If they are then how come there isn't a system governed by them?

Thirdly, how come when I scanned Matt Burch's ship it said "trader" instead of "ambrosia"?

      1. ummm.... why don't you ask them? You know, most non-human controlled ships kinda suck because of the AI program... sure, they didn't make their ships like the Disco Bison, but who cares?

      2. They're not part of any government... they're traders.

      3. see #2. Only Hector is Ambrosia.

    • 1. The reason their ships suck is that when you are mad at ambrosia you can blow up the president and when you are mad at EV:O you can blow up it's programer.

      2. They don't have a goverment so they can't own a system.

      3. If they don't have a goverment they can't have a govement's name in their loyeltys box.

    • 1. Who cares??

      2. WHY do you want them to have powerful ships???? Do you want a billion Disco Bisons flying around??

      3. Goverment?? I'm neutral in that topic....

    • Actually, in the original Escape Velocity, wasn't there one ship that was nigh-invincible? I believe it was one of the programmers, but it was a modified Kestrel that launched wave after wave (after wave, after wave) of Lightnings while none of your attacks worked? I even launched a Forklift at that thing, and nothing!

The point is, um...I guess the point is that one of the programmers wanted to be invincible. I think it was Birch.

It was indeed Matt Burch. I've played EV ever since it first came out and I've never figured out how to be him. If I recall, his shield recharge rate was so fast that even a Forklift couldn't kill him. I agree about them having super powerful ships in EV3. Just make them so that they would be sooooo rare that they wouldn't interfere with normal gameplay that much.

    • Of course you realize folks, that the ships that the Ambrosia employees "pilot" were probably customized by those employees themselves? The ships are the way they want them to be, as a matter of personal preference, not as a gameplay issue. Those ships are their own personal bits of the game, and they can do whatever they want with them. I really think that suggestions for what the Ambrosia employees should do with their own ships is going a bit overboard.

That's like making suggestions for how to design the "About EV3" part, or suggestions for an easter egg. Easter eggs, the About Box, and in EV's case, personalized ships are all areas where the programmer goes and does whatever they want. You really have no right to tell the programmer how he should give credit to himself inside his own game.

Matt could've put himself in a Krait if he wanted, and I wouldn't care, because it's his decision, and it doesn't really affect me.

    • I would like to say that i did not set up this topic to tell the Ambrosia employees that they should have better ships, I was just meerly asking why they don't.

In response to Flatulence and LoneVoinian, actually under every single Ambrosia employees' ship except for Matt Burch's it says ambrosia.
