    • Scale in EV3

i think it's a bit stupid in EVO that the scales are nothing like they should.
For example: the UE carrier is 200m long but looks the same size as the UE destroyer thats only 100m long also the cresent warship is 160m long but looks bigger than the idgaza thats 220m long.
i think in EV3 the ship scale should me more realistic. This would also be more fun 'cos when your in a big kick ass ship you can look down on puny little ships and laugh 😄
      What do you think

    • It'd be pretty hard, because the limit for ship sizes is 176 (Y axis), and you don't really want to fly a ship that you can't see.. and most — all, actually — big ships suck. Anything above 99 tons sucks (takes more than a day to jump). And the 'length' is just to give you an idea of the size of your ship, nothing else. What would you rather have? A big, clumsy slug, or a small, efficient, versatile ship?

    • I think what he means is that with the UE, the UE fighter could barely fit into the UE Cruiser, certainly not 6 of them. In EV3, etc, the ships should be drawn to scale according to thier length.

Fighters like the Crescent Fighter, and the Crait should be to scale with the Shipyard pictures for the Crescent Warship, and Turncoat respectively.

Ships size should correspond to their length in the ship info box.

Like I said, the pixel size limit is 176 (not that big), and you don't want to fly a ship that you can't see.

    • Try doing star wars scaled properly 😉 if a fighter was 24x24 and 8 meters, than imagine a Super Star Destroyer at 8 Kilo Meters long, so you'd need a sprite of 24000x24000, which just isn't practical. While EV/O ships are much more the same size, making them realistic in size would give you the same problems, just not to that extent. So until everyone has 40 inch flat screen monitors and multiproccesor G5's running at 2.5 ghz, you are not going to see things to scale in a 2d sprite driven game.

    • Damn straight.

You're unique, just like everybody else.

Those things, those things! They're all around, they hide in the corners until they see light...

    • That would be kinda cool. You're in an X-Wing, flying on top of a huge super-star destroyer. It would be a whole 'nother battlefeild; and it's only a ship.

    • I find it Amusing that everyone wants EV to be more like Ares. (Amusing is capitalized)

Ares is a good game, I'll give you that, and it has a very good engine, however EV has incredible expandability, and you can create countless missions, with ares though, you can have much more complex missions, now if only they made EV:Ares with massive multiplayer abilities. But I'm dreaming above heaven right now, but someday that will change, years down the road though.

    • How come everyone has problems with everything around here? Rarely do I read anything by anybody that isn't a whining complaint. So what if the ships aren't scaled? Hell, the planets aren't scaled. The UE Cruiser is the same size as the earth, unless you think a 2d game has that much perspective? It's a fun game, leave well enough alone. They's smaht people massah, they git it right someday.

    • If someone is good enough at graphics to make true 3D modles for all the ships, you could use depth to make certian ships appear bigger than they are. Download Magma 2.0 and look at the Crecent warship, Dreadnaught, and the UE Cruiser. You'll see what i mean.
