Wouldn't it be nice if you could abort a jump run? I often drop into a system, hit the jump key to move on, and then hear an urgent request for assistance, when I'm already accelerating away.
Also, it would be great if you could choose to transfer yourself between vessels, making another vessel into your flagship. At the moment, if you board a ship you get that choice, but you can't change /back/ without dismissing and attacking your own escort.
I'd like jumps to use different amounts of fuel, depending on the apparent map distance to be travelled.
Finally, at the risk of skewing game balance, I'd like to be able to take more responsibility for escort ships. For example, you'd have to pay for /their/ fuel and ammo too, or they'd run out of missiles and get left behind (released) if you exceeded their jump range. On the plus side, if you were prepared to pay for it, you could outfit the escorts that you own with shield capacitors, extra guns, etc... Of course, the game would have to be made harder, in order to compensate.
Since we've had the last version of EV:O we're going to get, these ideas will probably fall upon deaf ears... but a lot of us have high hopes for EV3!

But I've got a bare chest
I do some talking
My phaser does the rest
Don't like your tentacles
Don't like your face
Don't like your planet
Think I'll lay it to waste
'Coz I'm Rambo in Space
Yeah, I'm Rambo in Space"
