Mikee, I think he knows that, but just think, theres going to be a lot of people reading the web board, and many of them won't post. If people are acting lame, these readers will see that and see its not a place for them, but if we all show that this place is cool to be, and we're nice to each other, then others will want to join, and then there will be many people to respect you, because you were here before them, and you set the standard. So people, be kind and lets be nice to each other.

umm, a month means you are a newbie. I first visited EV.com a LONG time ago, back when it was EV only (three years I think...). I became more regular a year ago

I am only a newbie (hate the term, by the way--it just sounds weird to me) to the Web Board, not to the game. As with Soviet mikee, I was an avid player of EV back in the day, and I haven't stopped playing ever since.

I just got back from Hawaii. I'm a newbie, but nobody seems to notice. About a week after I first signed on, somebody said I wasn't a newbie, so I guess I'm an honorary vetarin. Jive, you signed on a couple of weeks before I did, so I don't understand the decision process on how to decide who is a newbie.

when i got EV, it was 2-3 years ago i think. i had a copy of 1.0.0 on a zip disk that my dad had...i didnt find out about escape-velocity.com till i had been playing override for a loong time, ofcourse, it was only about 6 months till EV.com was taken down and replaced by the current sites. basically, dont take me for a n00b, or i'll smack you upside the head :eek:

Nobody has been telling me that I'm a newbie... I wonder why: I've been here about a month (probably less) and even have fewer than a hundred posts. I used to regular escape-velocity.com 'till it was closed, and I've played EV and EVO since they were released.

I've been here since a few months befor EVO got released, I don't remember exactly how long, I just know it was awhile befor EVO came along, I never really posted much back than, maybe 20-30 posts one week, than i'd dissapear from the boards for a few months, i'm posting more regularly now....

in my eyes, their are 6 kinds of poeple on this board:
1: Vets - poeple that have been here befor the sites changed (or, in time, poeple that have been here for 8 months+)
2: regulars - poeple that have been here for over 3 months and post on the board regularly
3: semi-newbies - poeple that have been here for more than 1 to 2 months
4: newbies - poeple who have been here for less than a month
5: spammers - poeple that put spam on the EV, EVO, or Developers Corner boards
6: board newbies - poeple that have been with EV for a while, but not with the boards
newbie has, unfortuneatly, become acosiated with anoying, stuck-up, bad-temperd, spamer, etc., even though most of them aren't, they just seem that way because, YOU'RE ACTING THE SAME WAY, I'm beginning to lose my repsect for some vets because of their constant newbie bashing... everybody on this board needs to be nicer, i use to think that poeple on Macs were nicer than poeple on PCs... but I'm beginning to think I was wrong wrong....
