MY upgraded crescent warsip kicks *** i let my friend use my file and ge got me a CW i dont know what he did but it is invincible no one can even dent my shields and i have dominated about half the galaxy with it (no escorts).=)

Hehe, I'm here to contradict virtually everything I just said...

Firstly, I'm not such a big fan of the CW anymore. The biggest problem is that it doesn't hold out in intensive battle situations for very long, even with all the armor/sheild upgrades that money can buy. This is fine for a midrange type ship, but when you get to those missions where you have to singlehandedly wipe out a fleet of ships, it stops being ok, and starts ******* ***. Fast.

The next thing worth mentioning is that I have recently become attached to the UE Cruiser. Go on, laugh if you like, but the thing about it is that after I got four sheild upgrades, I had an average capture potential of 65% when boarding Crescent Warships! Now I have all the escorts I could possibly need, for free, and good ones too!

Of course, the sheer cumbersomeness of the ship requires that all the speed upgrades be made. I also put in an afterburner to help with the speed issue, a tractor beam to hold faster ships down while I **** **** ** *** ***, and two fuel scoops and two fuel tanks to compensate for the loss of fuel. Finally, I put in 5 neutron (I think that's what they're called) turrets for use against the Voinians, since they tend to work better vs armor.

Oh, and I like the UE fighters included too! I don't really have a problem with money, so at a one-time fee of 80,000, they aren't that big of a burden money wise, and can definitely make a difference on a battlefield.

I ain't laughing. The UE Cruiser is the 3rd most powerful standerd ship in the game. It sais in the standerd game that the Igazra is the most powerful ship in the galaxy. Bullsh-t. I pitted an Igazra against a single Voinian Cruiser. I made a new system with no dude, no asteroids and no interferance. I made a mission where an Igazra and a Voinian Cruiser fourgt eachother. THe fighters were quickly destroyed and then the Igazra made swift, minor attacks on the cruiser. The SAE's, Disp. Rockets and phase turrets did hardly any damage to the Cruisers heavy armour. Neutron turrets and rockets pirced the Igazras shgields, and because the Igazra has 5000 shield units (500 shipyard units) and the Cruiser has 5000 armour units, it totaly crushed the Igazra. But having said that, it goes like this:

A UE Carrier or Cruiser will always beat a Voinian Cruiser (with fighters)

A Voinian Cruiser will always beat an Igazra #(with armour and neutrons)

An Igazra will always beat a UE Cruiser or Carrier (Phase, Disp. and SAE's)

With these I mean all AI, 1.0.1. If it was 1.0.2 it would be very different, but that's it in my opinion.

Hmm, the Voinian Cruiser is a great ship?! Hehe... Well I have to take issue with that. Your point that the rest of the Galaxy isn't prepared for it isn't that bad of one, it's just that it's so SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! I mean, we're talking about a ship that I run CIRCLES around in my UE Cruiser, which is slow to start with (admittedly I got all the speed upgrades, but still).

Anyway, Gavin you say that it's the third best ship in the game, but I'm a little confused as to what are the two ships better than it. If I'm right you're putting the Igazdra and the Voinian Cruiser above it, but I'm not sure, especially after that circular everything beats something thing you stated (not unlike Rock-Paper-Scissors) with the three. Please clarify. Thanks!

well im sure that other ppl could pilot a CW well enough to destroy anything, but as far as the AI goes...well, I can single-handedly destroy one in a Lazira...

Then again, I can destroy a lot of things in my souped-up Lazira...my goal is to destroy the Voinian Dreadnought in it...if anyone has any tips for destroying it (what weaps to use, how to attack it, etc.), feel free to email me

I suppose. They are all great (I'm talking about AI) against different things. As the three way ting goes to show, the UE Cruiser is the best ship, the Igazra is the best ship and the Voinian Cruiser is the best ship. When I say anything I mean AI. I can whip a Vonian Cruiser in a UE Fighter, ora shuttle. Against an Igazra though, I at least need an Azdara. But anyway, you decide which is best or not.

As I Crescent Fighter. C'mon, its easy to beat the Dreadnought. I could be it in a shuttle, but it would take forever.

I ever saw a fight between my escort UE Cruiser and a Igadzra. The Igadzra won, but there were other ships fighting, so it isn't really 100% accurate.

(hint: to have a lot of UE Cruiser escorts, do the following:

1. pilot a UE Cruiser
2. make sure you have enough money to buy a UE Cruiser.
3. Capture a ship, the Ue Cruiser will become your escort.
4. Buy a UE Cruiser.
5. Repeat.)

I almost completely agree. I love fighters and would never sell the fighter bay. SAD's just seek and destroy asteroids, i almost never hit a ship with them.

My current config is: 4 Neutron turrets, 1 layer of Dospect armor, 1 needle jammer, 2 fuel tanks, 1 escape pod, 1 density scanner, 1 iff decoder, 1 afterburner, 1 sensor upgrade, 2 fuel scoops, 1 auto refuler, 1 fighter bay + 3 crecent fighters, 3 shield enhancers, 1 ecm system, 1 repulsor beam, 1 systems upgrade, and 1 zidgar ecm system. It is an awesome config and i have done TONS of very hard missions with it.

THE UE CRUISER IS A GOOD SHIP!! I've heard many people either bash the Cruiser or praise it. It is sweet. Plus with escorts (mine are 2 Igazras, 2 Zidaras, 1 Crescent Warship, 1 Azdagari Warship) it is unbeatable across UE and Strand space. My outfits are as follows:

• 5 phase turrets
• 4 shield generators
• Dospect Armor
• RCS Upgrade
• Engine Upgrade
• Thrust Upgrade
• Azdagari Upgrade
• ECM System
• Needle Jammer
• Sensory Upgrade
• 3 Pursuit Missile Launchers
• 100 Pursuit Missiles
• 5 UE Fighters
• An expieramental shield regenerator (the one you get from the mission string)

Along with afterburner, 2 fuel tanks, 2 fuel scoops, IFF Decoder, Density Scanner, and NPD, this is a great ship. If you want to fight voinians, Switch to Blaze Cannons (which people also trash for no reason), sell 1 Pursuit launcher, sell your Pursuit Missiles until you're down to 56. Buy a Hunter missile launcher with 12 hunters. You can also go with regular rockets if you want. Now you're prepared for voinians! This is a sweet ship. With some upgrades, you got a sweet @$$ ship!
