I was wondering what you all thought the best fighter overall in EVO is. My thoughts are the Azdara...especially if it is enhanced :D. With an enhanced azdara, or even arada, you can fly rings around most other ships with the exception of a few fighters. The Azdara can literally sit in front of the most dangerous warship of all, the Igazra, and take it out with four swivel cannons. Well, there's my $.02 worth. What do you guys think?

Its all subjective. Myself, I prefer the Azdari Arada. Since I don't like secondary weapons, Azdgari craft are my personal preference. I also like the Azdara. I like using an Arada with a phase beam. I think its unanimous that the worst fighter is the Krait. Voinian Fighters suck too.

the best fighter is the azdara by far, when I was with the Adzgari i went around beating down just about everyone I could find, I only died once.

hehe, actually even though that's irrelevant, I think there is a case to be made for the Rebel Manta. That was a pretty cool fighter...

For bad fighters, of course the Krait and Voinian fighters have been mentioned. The Krait sucks in every way, not even being fast enough to evade its fate, and the Voinain fighters are actually slower than most capital ships! Bleah... Course the Emalghia fighters are even worse in this way... hehe.

The best one is the Azdara if you are piloting it. But if not, I prefer UE Fighters for the ones launched by capital ships. They do more damage per unit, and are fast enough to outmanouver about 95% of ships.

There IS a better fighter than the enhanced Azdara:
First pick sides in the Human-Voinian war and get far enough to have access to armor upgrades. Then do the Azdari missions. Just before you get the mission with a shield upgrade attached, get a crescent fighter and max it out, including an armor upgrade. Such a ship cannot be destroyed by five Igazras with all the time in the world :).

Who says the enhanced azdara isn't as good? Actually, the best fighter for personal use is the enhanced Azdari Arada with swivel phase cannons, shield enhancers, shield generator, dispersal rocket launchers, 2 mass expansions, adzari upgrade, engine and thrust upgrade. I used this to take out 2 Adzgari Warships, 2 Zidaras, and 5 Igadzras, all though not all at once. Against most Capital ships, you can just sit and fire, and there fire can't damage you fast enough to kill you.

Unanimous that the Krait is the worst fighter ? What about the Emalgha ? They have wooden hulls on their warships, and their fighters are ... I can't think of a word for how pitiful they are. I could have taken over the Kelmaon and the Emalghion system with a Krait. I agree that the Azdaras are the best, and I say the Emalghas are the worst. However, the Kraits are worthless unless they are in a very large group, and I am in a very tiny ship (shuttle or something).

The Periapse Fighters are the best. You will only know these if you play GxOverride 3.1 (the Galaxy Class Starship Plug-in). They are fast and well armed.

I think the worst fighters are Confed Gunboats. They only have 2 cannons (despite their 3 cannon ports) and they're not even protons, and they're so slow to turn that they get torpedoes shot at them. Either that or defenders/kraits (they're about the same). The best are Azdaras, especially with an experimental shield generator and a regular shield generator too.

In response to Grundle_4 saying that the emalghia fighter is the worst, I ask everybody this question. Who would you rather have on your side. Sure, the Emalghia suck, against everything except voinians. In Emalghia, I saw 2 Emalghi Warships, 4 emalghi fighters, and an Emalghi freighter take a Voinian cruiser with its 5 heavy fighters. However, I, agree, with Grundle in saying that I overlooked the Emalghia when I said the krait is the worst. In 1.0.2, just about every fighter is better, except Emalghia and voinian. Anyway, who would you rather have on your side?

I think Kraits are the worst fighters, unless they are in groups. If 3 Turncoats launch all of their Kraits at you, your in for a rough time.

Oh wait I just thought of something funny about the Elmalghia. If they have developed warp drive technology and sheilds, why the hell do their ships have wooden hulls??? Thats like an alien race that has developed all sorts of super technologys like teleporting, but they never invented the wheel or discovered fire.

Brown doesn't automatically mean wooden. They could just paint their ships brown because they like the color. I doubt it was the intention of the game developers to make a ship looking like a Spanish Gallion (sp?) in space.

The hulls are wood for sure. Select an emaghla ship and look at the display. It points out that the ship has a wooden hull.

Maybe the Emalgha are idiot savant thinkers. They can calculate the equations to move faster than light -- but they can't create a synthetic material for their ships.

OK, first off, the Emalgha ships use Wood because they are desperatly low on metal.

Secondly, I believe the E. Fighter's shields + armor are higher than the Kraits.

Third, Emalghian was a former Voinian slave planet they overthrew after the UE-Voinian push. The ships they have come from the very few materials they have.

PS: I think the Azdara is the best fighter for me. I can park it infront of a UE CRUISER and let it blast me for hours, won't do a thing.
