    • Help for a developing renegade

I just began to be a renegade. I need a few to tips to help me get started, though. How do I go about getting renegade missions? How do I get the Renegades to like me and not kill me? And what is a good ship the pillage and plunder, but isn't so powerful so that it takes the challenge away?

    • Renegades are always trying to kill you, there aint nothin' you can do about that.

As for a ship, try the turncoat (controversy :)). it's what most of the other pirates use, and is pretty crappy. However, in the right hands with the right weapons it can be very lethal. I managed to complete the whole game usng only a turncoat (plus the shuttle I used to get the 1.5 mill).

It can hold 3 turrets, and if you ditch the Blaze's and go with some Neutrons you'll be laughing. Get all the speed / turn ungrades and the jamming equipment and you can run away from pretty much everything. Oh, and one last final thing, definatly get rid of the krait bay. To put it frankly, Kraits suck, by an Azdara bay.

Oo! Just had an idea for EV 3, how about being able to re-paint your ship. It shouldn't be too hard to add a few extra transparrency layers in their to enable you to chose from a set of predefined colours. Then they'd be arguments over which ship / colour combination their would be I suppose...

Oh, I'm sorry. Did that break your concentration?
I didn't mean to do that.
      Please, continue.

There is a recruitment mission at Saalia. JUST DON'T JOIN THE UE IN ANY WAY!! Plus I think you have to get a good combat rating too.

It should be like "A shady figure approaches you..." say yes and you'll get the mission.

Note: I've only gotten the mission once and I failed to complete it. I may be right, I may be wrong but it seems to me like no one else has gotten this mission so they can't judge me. The exact reading of the mission is to smuggle some Saalian Brandy to Gorky without having the UE people dock your ship. Actually, I'm gonna try it right now to see if I'm right :). I'll tell you in the morning if I'm right.

I have completed this mission line and that is the first mission. BTW, you don't have to worry about the UE scanning you, no matter how close they get to you, in my experience, they don't do anything.

    • I completed the Saalian Brandy mission, but didn't get any more renegade missions. But the renegades let me buy an Arada. Later I started making UE deliveries. I'm not sure that you CAN join the renegades, You can decide to become an independent pirate however, just by acting like one.

If you go to Freeport, you actually can "join" the renegades. There is a small string there and I have heard of at least one plug that continues the missions.
