I just began to be a renegade. I need a few to tips to help me get started, though. How do I go about getting renegade missions? How do I get the Renegades to like me and not kill me? And what is a good ship the pillage and plunder, but isn't so powerful so that it takes the challenge away?

As long as you haven't become a UE something you can go to Saalia to gat a cargo smuggling mission. I'm not sure, but I think that's how you become a renegade. As for ships to plunder, I think a UE freighter is your best bet. They hold lots of cargo but they have no weapons to fight back with. Miranu couriers, freighters, and heavy freighters also have a lot of cargo. Howver, be careful. Some have defence systems I think. Plus they have phase turrets and can be a challenge to take down.
