I would like to know what the fastest way to money is? I've found a trade route that'll give you 1.54 mill credits in 4,5 minutes (2x 100% speed) if you don't incounter any renegades and have the right ship and fleet... Any quicker way to make money? I've heard about a route in the Emalghia (or whatever) between two planets in the system. How fast is it possible to make 1.54 mill with that route (with 2x 100% speed)? I could find out my self, but then I'd have to change my fleet or something, and I wouldn't like to do so. You might wanna know my route and it is:
      Buy grassworm @ Pax, Dogover
      Sell @ Omm
Buy medical @ Omm (not if "highest")
sell @ Telnan, Ariane (not if medical was "highest")
Buy equipment @ Telnan (if medical was "highest" then go to the the system under Omm, I can't remember its name, and buy it there)
      Sell @ Pax
      Start all over again

      My fleet: 6 Freighters¨
My Ship: Maurian Heavy Freighter with two phase turrets, one fuel pod, two ramscoop (Don't ask me why), and lots of cargo expansions. Then I have 1500 tons to fill with goods. Wheee

Maurian? That's probably the weirdest name abomination I've seen on these boards so far... and I've seen many.

Apart from that, your route sounds somewhat complicated... you can make a million in one single Himgro/Munb/Himgro run. With the lightning jump plug, that's less than a minute.

Also, using captured freighters (e.g. Voinian) relieves you from paying escort freighters.

    • My advice: Become a pirate!!

Or, be a semi renegade but against the voinians. You get a ship, any ship. Even a shuttle, and raid some freighters, capture them (make sure there traders, not miranu or EA or SC or whatever) after you have a couple, go plunder some voinians in the dogovor system. If they have equipment sell it to pax if they have medicals say hoorah!! and sell it in ariane. It gets a bit repedative though.

    • Get a UE Destroyer. This one is unbeatable. It's also my old one...

       Dospect armor
       3 needle launchers
       250 needle missiles
       1 pursuit missile launcher
       15 pursuit missiles
       2 shield generaters
       3 blaze turrets
       2 mass expansions
       2 cargo expansions
       Needle jammer
       ECM System

I think that's it. Now get a high combat rating (Deadly, or preferably Ultimate). Go into the proxima nebula areas (Huron, Omm, Hatulii) and keep going into the bars. You'll get tons of bounty hunting missions, and Save the Colony!! missions. These are all worth 100,000 credits each. In a few hours you can make about 4 million credits (I know thats not to fast but you really rake up the cash without traveling much or using much (if at all) cargo space)

I believe it's 'Miranu', not 'Maurian'.

    • Igazras have around 800,000 credits each, get in a fight with three of 'em and win - BOOM! 2.40 million credits in about 2 minutes 😄 ..... 'course this only works if you're in a good ship, and you're a good pilot 😛

    • My advice is to become an anti-pirate pirate. It's the best of all worlds: after disabling ships, board them for cash. No one cares that you're boarding the ships, cause they are renegade ships, in fact they tend to like you better overall. Your combat rating goes up too, letting you get access to more stuff!

The same can be done in the crescent. Although I don't recommend doing it vs the Voinians (their ships never carry credits for some reason), it's a great way to make a living in the crescent, especially if you are on the Azdagari side (cause it's just a pain in the ass to try and disable their ships; avoid it entirely by joining them) 🙂

Crescent ships of any kind tend to carry reams of cash, multiple hundreds of thousands. Very profitable. 😃

However, I do not recommend doing this in anything less than an Arada, and even then it's very difficult. Azdagari or whatever those fast little buggers are can do it quite well, cause their sheild regeneration is so much better than any other crescent ship (any ship at all, actually).

A woman came up to me and said, "I'd like to poison your mind. With wrong ideas that appeal to you, though I am not unkind." She looked at me, I looked at something written accross her scalp. And these are the words that it faintly said as I tried to call for help. "There's only one thing that I know how to do well, and I've often been told that you only can do what you know how to do well, and that's be you. Be what you're like. Be like yourself. And so, I'm having a wonderful time but I'd rather be whistling in the dark. Whistling in the dark. There's only one thing that I like, and that is whistling in the dark.

    • There's also the tried-and-true trader methods. Assuming you're starting from scratch, what I usually do is start out with a few mission computer runs in UE space. When I have enough $$ to buy a freighter plus a load of cargo, I'll do that and do the fertilizer - food run between Atlantic Station and Centauri. As your bank account grows, hire more freighters from the bar on Centauri - you can have up to six. Then, do that run a few more times. When you have about a million to a million and a half credits, head south, pick up medical supplies on New Riga and sell them in the Ariane system. Every few runs, the cost of medical supplies will go up to "higher" making you even more money.

When you have 8 or 9 million credits, let your escorts go and head up to Miranu space. Buy a Miranu Heavy Freighter and hire 6 escorts (warning: 6 Miranu Heavy Freighters will cost you 75k credits per day, and you have a good 12 days or so before you get any cash. Make sure you have the money to do this!

Anyway, once you have 6 Miranu Heavy Freighters plus your own making the medical run, you'll be pulling in a million credits every two runs, and if the price of medical is "higher" you'll make over a million per run.

If you're feeling more daring, the Munb - Himgro leaves - medical run will make you $$$$$$$$$$ (but there are renegades about)

    • It's interesting that there's so much money to be made in the commodities. I'll have to try that out some time...

My experience is that trying to make money buying low selling high has always been too slow. Probably I wasn't doing the right trading routes, but it always seemed to me that the missions paid better. To start off I ususally just take one rush delivery at a time, maybe also a ferry passenger or two. I join up with UE shipping and FedEx or whatever those guys are, and when I have enough money for a freighter I buy one. Usually, I can make enough money to get out of what I consider to be the boring part of the game within about 30 minutes of flying around and doing missions from the mission computer. Then I get a combat worthy ship and start the mission lines.

      ------------------
Don't don't don' let's start. This is the worst part. To believe for all the world that you're my precious little girl. Don't don't don' let's start. I've got a big heart, and I don't get around how you... get around.

    • Start a new pilot and do a couple of missions. Then use ACE which is a program that will allow you to resave your Pilot Fole with any amount of money you require! It ruins the fun of collecting the money but if you're running short of time it is the QUICKEST way of getting money so that you can buy the ship you need! I use it to try out new ships or Plug Ins to see if I like them. Then I go back and play the game properly with a new pilot!

Yes it is... I think I were thinking about an old EV plug, Angels of Vengeance or something, and the bad guys are called Maurians. But I just recently started playing again after a one year break, I can't remember those names (and the Sands! Damn!!! :))

What I've found is that with small and medium-sized craft, commodities are a waste of time and energy. Missions available at the mission computer will get you more money. Depending on the run, though, a single freighter can equal or exceed what a mission computer can offer. The standard UE rush delivery will get you 12000 credits, standard deliveries are worth 5000. By contrast, a standard cargo run can net you anywhere from 30 to 220 credits per unit, even more with mining accidents, etc. Since a shuttle only has space for 20 tons of cargo, a run will only gain 600 to 4400 credits per run. A freighter has 160 cargo, meaning a run will get you anywhere from 4800 to 35,200 per run. You plus 6 freighter escorts will get 33,600 to 246,400 per run (less a couple thousand per day to pay the escorts.) A Miranu Heavy Freighter carries 500 cargo (and has 2 phase turrets.) Get 6 escorts, you're talking 105,000 to 770,000 per run, minus 75,000 per day in fees. (Trust me, it's worth it. Even after fees, you can make up to half a million per run.)

It took me probably about an hour to do enough missions and enough cargo runs to get my Miranu convoy together - all with the lowest combat rating. Don't even consider the Miranu Freighter convoy until you have 3 or 4 million credits: 6 escorts will cost you 75,000 credits per day, and you're facing about 6 days with no income. Then, you also have to buy the goods to fill their holds AND have enough money to pay them until you can land and sell your goods.

However once you have a Miranu Convoy, the money rolls in very quickly. I do the run of medical goods from New Riga in the Tulir system (900 credits) to the Ariane system. Normally, they sell for 1120 per unit, but occasionally there's a mining accident, which raises the price to 1500 per unit. So, on one run, after fees, I bring in anywhere from 500,000 to 2 million. In 20 minutes, my bank account rose from around 7 million to 20 million.

The side benefit to doing things this way is that Miranu Heavy Freighters all have two phase turrets. Sometimes renegades like to hang out in the Ariane system. Kraits don't last very long against phase turrets 🙂 More importantly, your entire convoy puts out enough firepower that turncoats don't last more than a few seconds. Your combat rating goes up, your legal standing grows, your bank account swells. In short, with a couple hours of commodities trading, you'll be ready to take on the "starter" missions with good legal standing, good combat rating and a far better ship than you otherwise would. The key is patience. The runs are tedious, yes, but it's really nice to have enough $$$ to buy any ship in the game and any add-ons you want.

(As a side note, while the Miranu Heavy freighter stinks for missions requiring speed, it is actually quite capable as a heavy cap ship. Convert those 500 tons of cargo space into weapons space, add the 80 weapons you already have, plus the 2 turrets and 3 defence pod launchers, upgrade the rcs, thrust and engines, add some dospect armor and shield enhancers and a couple of fighter bays... the thing moves like a turtle, but it can dish out and take a LOT of punishment! The off-the-shelf-8-jump fuel capacity doesn't hurt, either.)

      ------------------

    • If you want to make money with trade missions, don't join FE. Once your fighting level is high enough, you'll get a lot of anti-FE missions and smuggling missions from SC, which each pay 100 000-250 000. They are more fighter-like than trader-like, but they are the highest paid repetitive mission (higher than the usual zachit ones, and all that to bust a FE ship) 😄

    • Cuz I spell it that way! I have collected some trade routes on "Fellow traders, come here" topic. I asked some questions that would be nice if they were answered. I guess I will see you there. (I hope). Cya all.
