So far, I agree. For one thing, the Centurian Cruiser is the cheapest of the heavy capital ships in F-25 at 15M, so it is a natural first upgrade from a UE Cruiser or Warship. Secondly, it has 12 jumps, which is quite handy for getting through the sparse bits of the F-25 galaxy. Thirdly, it has massive amounts of armor, which is great for going back to the Crescent for moneymaking (a sad requirement in F-25, since there are few 100K+ missions and normal trade runs are diluted throughout the entire combined universe). Fourthly, it has two more turrets than its indicated maximum AND you can get two more Duel turrets AND you can add four normal guns of your choice! Fifthly, you can sell all the Querin fighter bays (which were unusable for me, go figure) and get an easy 300 tons of space for other goodies.
The one drawback is that you can't buy replacement Centurian gunboats (?), so that bay isn't very useful.
Disclaimer: I started with an existing pilot and had the F-25 galaxy visibility bit bug, so I may be seeing outfits and ships one wouldn't normally see at the start of play.**
Yes, the Centurian Cruiser has always been the best-kept secret of the F-25 galaxy, despite it's large fighter bay and fighters. That was done partially due to the lack of outfit pict space (not outfit space itself) because of a game engine error by matt burch (since corrected.) and partially because the Centurians had to have unique aspects to their vessels. I put the ship in there because I knew people would ignore the smaller ships in exchange for brutes like the Querin Battleship and Kytarii vessels, which are still both awesome in their own right.
As for the Querin, I always wanted their ships and bays to be resellable because it seemed to make more sense, same with the Kytarii. Of course, I figured people would probably have good ships by the time they entered the new galaxy and wouldn't care about buying newer fighter bays, but people have proved me wrong.
As I've said before, version 1.5 should update the plug-in with a few new features and many bug fixes to finally bring it totally together.
