i have a really good crescent warship with loads of sad's and shield upgrades. i am doing the mission for the miranu to explore the proxoma nebula. i have just recently done the missoin to chase away those renegade ships. i bribed them like crazy. then i done a few more missions and then i faced an igdadra or something that looked like a vibrator (s######). i killed it after a dosing of 40 sad's and then i finished the central mission in the other nebula (the jii nebula or something). it said something about completeing a central objective or something. so, if i have finished that, what ship do i buy next? i want to fight the voinians but when i fight them in my crescent warship they always destroy me really quickly. i usualy never do any damage to them, even when i load 100 sad's and loads of turret fire into a voinian cruiser it still lives to kill me. help!!

Well, have you started any of the strand missions (Zidagar, Igadzra, Azdgari)? For some reason I just like the Zidigar the best (their missions start on Pozdag 3 (if you can't find the others, ask, someone will surley know all of them)). This will let you buy that government's ships and weapons/outfits....

Have you done the UE Cruiser mission? A lot of people like that ship.

Note: Crescent weapons don't generally work very well on Voinian armor as they are designed against Crescent ships which rely on shields rather than armor...

I've found that outfitting a strong warship with Emalgha turrets can be very effective against Voinans. Despite their horrible accuraccy and range, they are more effective against armor than shields, making them pack more punch against Voinans. Another option is to buy a smaller, more maneuverable ship. The most maneuvarble ship in the game is the Azdara, but to get one you'll have to cheat or complete the Azdara missions. Due to the Voinans all around slowness, I've defeated a Voinan Cruiser in an upgraded Azdara without escorts. If you buy an Azdara, Emalgha cannons, Blaze cannons, or Neutron cannons are all better choices than the built in phase cannons. Also, equip your ship with SADs or pursuit missiles(whichever you prefer).

Yea, I've found that SADs of SAEs are the most powerfull waepon, ton for ton. (besides needles, sence they don't weigh anything.)

I am one of those people that like the UE Cruiser. If you want a good weapon against the Voinians, get Rockets or Hunter Rockets. And if you are just going to be fighting the Voinians, get Emaghlion cannons, they pack quite a punch against armour.

Miranu/Strand Weapons SUCK against Voinians, but not vice versa. Refit your warship with Emalgha Cannons and sell a few SADs to buy H. Rockets. That should do it.

The Azdara is also really good. If you can handle it's high speed and RCS.

As other people have mentioned before, I'd go with the U.E. cuiser. You can start the mission string to get it by going to the part of U.E. space that borders the renegade space. Eventually they'll want you to hunt for a ship designer, I can't remember her name, but thats not important. The U.E. cruiser has a nice amount of shielding, weapons space, and reasonable speed (after some engine/thrust etc. upgrades. I think you can find some on mira). Emehlga or however you spell it have good anti-armor turrets, but I prefer to load up my U.E. cruiser with Neutron turrets. You can find them on Vionian worlds (heh, not much good to ya there) or Paaren station. If you've completed the Paaren station string, you can purshase them there. Good luck on whooping some vionian @$$

Nod to what Dave just said. I prefer Neutron turrets, since the range is so much better. Another very very useful thing to do with the cruiser is get four sheild upgrades (also the Dospect Armor), and with the massive sheild, you can capture virtually any ship in the game and turn it into your unwilling servant! When you combine the force of six escorts (maximum allowed) all with lots of firepower, five UE fighters (might as well keep them cause you can't sell the bay), and yourself, that's 12 ships! You can't lose!

please remember that i am very new to evo. i have gone through all of ue space and done the parren missions, and then i went upwards to mira or something and did some missions for them. then i bourght my cressent warship and i did the nebula missions. i went through loads of ue and miranu space, and there was even this goverment called zigadre or something, and they had this sort of purple ship. i want one of those! but before you tell me more, please tell me a little about the races and things. remember i'm new.

The Emalghia are a primitive race (heck, their ships are largely wood...) with two systems just north of Voinian space and are their enemies. Despite having such primitive ships, their weapons are quite good against armor.

The Strands are three different governments. They all came from the same race, but they broke into different factions and are having a three way war. The Zidagar (the ones with the purple ships you wanted... ) you saw is one of these factions. The other two are Igadzra (the one with the vibrator looking ship... :rolleyes: ) and the Adzgari.

The crescent is the crescent shaped space formed by the Strands, Strandless (exiled from the strands), and some of the Renegade systems. Basically, cover up the UE, Voinian, and Miranu and if you've fully explored the galaxy, you get a crescent shape.

Why does the big yellow ship (Igadzra) look like a vibrator, well, who knows where the graphic designer got his inspiration....

If your looking for the purple ship (called a Zidara), visit the bar on Pozdag-3 as meantioned above and do a bunch of missions for the Zidagar. For a Crescent Warship-esque ship brilliantly titled the Adzgari Warship, visit South Tip Station to work for the Adzgari. The kicker of this ship though is it comes with some really sleek fighters. For the vibrator, join the Igadzra on Kitrak. This is who I work for, but I don't really like them at all. If you need help with locations just ask again.

Well there are 2 ways to beat the Voinians:

1. Get a UE Cruiser, arm it with TONS of weapons, and go beat up somebody
2. Get a Lazira, arm it with as many weapons and upgrades as you can, and beat up the Voinians (dodging their SLLLOOOOWWW weapons)

the first is best for missions where there's either lots of big voinian ships, and the second is really good for missions where either you have help or there arent many ships to defeat.

Probably a must is dospect armor (found on that one station after the voinian defector missions). Keep your distance from voinians. If you get too close you will be massacuered by their rockets and cannons. Also, if you take this advice, you should try to get some good homing weapons to avoid the asteroids or just stockpile on rockets and pumble them. Before the voinian ship is destroyed, steal there rockets by boarding the ship. Any of the ships mentioned above are good. Emalgha cannons are good for voinians. There are only two planets to find these weapons and they are at the north tip of voinian air-space. If you go on missions where you have to destroy voinian fleets with escorts, just stand back and take a couple of stabs at them every once and a while. Remember, being cautious is not a bad thing. My personal favorite is an Igazra (the big yellow Igadzra ship) with max number of phase turrets and several Defense systems. Next favorite is a Zidara (purple cruise) with the beam and swivel phase cannons. The Azdara also kicks ass, but not my style.

Some people also like the UE or Voinian Cruiser, but those are too slow for me.

Kelly, to get the Strand ships (Igazra, Zidara, Azdara) do the missions for the appropriate strand. Or better yet, get the Triple Agent plug and do all three. (There's a certain order in that case, though). The UE Cruiser requires completing the Anna Balashova missions, and the Voinian ships are gotten after doing the Voinian missions.

You'll also probably want to do the Paaren Station mission; they will allow you access to some Voinian technology even if you choose to side with the UE.

Agree with Obormot DF does. Have almost same ship preference. I like Adara's more than Zidara ships though.

Neutron stuff weighs the same as Emalgians(sp?), they have better range, better accuracy, the turrets go all the way, they're good against shields, too, and I think they're more expensive (hehehehehe...). Get them!

In defense of Peter Cartwright, creator of the painful flying sex toy (my kudos to whomever came up with that phrase. Wasn't it our wave length buddy ShadeOfBlue?), the Igazra (or whatever), I doubt he meant for it to look like a giant pleasure maker! If you get ahold of the actuall 3D model, it looks more like a pissed-on round heatsink with a flattened strawberry stuck on the front. Either way, the Igazda (bah, whatever the strand name is) don't tend to have style in mind when they make their ships.

Oh, kelly, if you want the purple ship, the Zidara, a note of warning: They have a terrible shield recharge. Every 16.7 (16.6 repeat for you math el bastardos) you get a 1% recharge with that thing. The U.E. cruiser is good, and if you get an Azdara (the little bug-like things) plus some armor and shield upgrates, its unbeatable! It recharges 30 shield units a second. Thats my tip
