    • Plug-ins in process...


      I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who don't have the expertise to develop a plug-in for POG, but are waiting with anticipation for some goodies to be uploaded in the near future.

      I don't know if it is related to the change in servers that I've noticedat the top of Ambrosia pages recent, but a couple of plug-ins that showed up for a day or two (one of them protected a player from getting stuck up "giant's toe" creek without a toenail!). Haven't seen them again since their brief appearance...

      SPECIFICALLY, I'm curious if any of you who are in the process of developing add-ons for POG that extend the game/story in some way might give the rest us an update on your progress. Not trying to be nosy...but just to let you know that many of us are looking forward to some new ideas/opportunities for gameplay.

      I'm the developer of that "bug fix" plug-in (TelePort) and I noticed it's disappearance as well. I think it is a problem with the server; they would be back up on the page, but uploading is completely screwed up at the moment. When everything is fixed, we'll have some nice little plug-ins, including TelePort and VolumeControl 1.1.1. Just be patient.

      I've been working on a large quest-centered plug-in for PoG for a month now. A few people I know of are also. For example, Stark Bledfast is working on a Utian Village plug-in. I won't say anything about my plug-in at the moment, it may yet become vaporware ( though such a thing is unlikely). The problem is that it takes much more time to make an actual add-on than it does to make a cheat, even when we're working as fast as we can. Just be patient.
      However, I think this topic is a good idea. I'll post to it even if no one else will.

    • Thanks Cafall, now I feel obligated to post. 😛

      I'm working on a plug-in that places Utian Village into the world. I had thought it would be much quicker in the coming but that was also ignorance of the design engine to build the plug-ins. I've completed much of the quests that are within the plug-in, and my time is now spent mostly on the new maps that are to be introduced by the plug-in.

      I won't give a release date(already tried giving generalities before and I've well since past those, heh). I will say that I highly doubt it will be done this month though. Sorry. But it will be finished and will be released. Of that I am fairly confident.

    • I've been negligent in passing along a thank you to Cafall, Starkiller and Stark Bledfast for the updates. Having taken a very brief peek at the Coldstone Demo, I'm well aware that a cheat is a whole different time frame than a real-live plug-in that adds something new. Thanks for your work...and we're looking forward to enjoying in the future (but no hurry!)

    • Yeah, no worries. Only reason I'm semi-loathe to post on the subject is that I honestly don't know when I will complete the plug-in. I'll try to give periodic updates though on the progress, for those that want to know.

      I will say though, for the record, that I've got several ideas that I really want to run with for other plug-ins that have no relationship at all to the Utian Village plug that I am writing. And I've already forced myself to not work on other plug-ins until I finish this one, so I've got a lot of incentive to get it completed. 🙂
