I am not really new to EVO, but I've been out of the loop for about a year, and I started it over again, siding with the Zidigar for a change. I cant get the Phase Beam to work... it shoots out the side instead of the front, and does no damage at all.

Bit more info: I have a Crescent Warship with just about everything you can stick in one. I also tried the phase beam on a Zidara and it doesnt work right either. I also cannot get the number of weapons i should be able to... a CW can have 4 guns and 4 turrets, but i cant get and phase cannons, and only 3 phase turrets onto my ship. it says i cant have any if i try and buy any more than that.

A few tricks I learned for beam weapons, try setting your monitor resolution to something else. Also post what resolution you are using right now, is it 800 x 600?

As for the turret and gun spots, some weapons take up both a turret and gun spot, this was how Peter designed it. So you can't complain. If you don't like it, get res-edit and change it.

The faulty phase beam is a long standing problem with EVO but is fixed in 1.0.2. If you can't wait for the upgrade, there is a fixer plug for the phase beam available from the add-on files or by this url :

if you use that plug, the phased beam should be fixed but why would you want to? The Zidigar really suck. For battle enjoyment you should really help the Azdgari, and for a great weapon join the Igadzra and get the plasma siphon.

Whats wrong with the Lazira.
Everyone wants big powerful ships but a smaller faster ship is more fun and more challenging.

If only the ziggies used their phase beamers more of the time they could actualy do good. Or if AI ships could use more then 1 weap at a time.
