I've only been able to find stone giants one place in the game(that place being the Order of the Crystal stronghold bottom level). it seems that they have to be somewhere. Where the heck are they?

There are some blue things in the caves of High Garendall, but they dont seem to carry clubs and it looks like they shoot ice. What are these?
