    • Help with Voinian mission


      Can anybody give me help or advice on the second Aid the Voinians! mission?
      I'm flying a Turncoat, and yes, I know that's my first mistake. I thought it would be an interesting change from the Arada that I'd tried before... Live and learn.
      Anyway, I can't catch the Admiral's shuttle. I've even hired some Crescent Fighters in hopes that I can get him that way, but he always shows up where I and my fighters aren't. I've tried telling my fighters to attack, or just keeping them in formation and chasing after him, but he always jumps out before I can even touch him.
      Does anybody have any suggestions, other than selling the poor excuse for a ship that I have now and buying something faster?

    • Selling your 'ship' and buying a faster one would be the logical answer, and the only one I can see, because most of your problem seems to be the idiotic escort/naval fighter AIs and the sluggishness of your ship.

    • Is there a ship you'd recommend? I'd prefer to get something of around the same monetary value, ie something above an Arada, but I'm not sure I'd be able to catch him even then.

      For that matter, could I set a flag in my pilot file that labels the shuttle as destroyed? How might I do that? (I do have ResEdit and a little skill in using it.)

    • I accumulated a lot of cash trading commodities by this mission.
      So I bought a cresent warship and got rid of the fighter bays and
      fighters. Then I put on rcs, engine and accel upgrades. I caught
      and killed that ship. If that is not enough you could just buy
      some of those pursuit missles and tear him up at long range. Needle
      missles would even work in this case too.
