Well let's see here: beam bug fix- important if you go in the crescent; incredibly better AI- should make gameplay more challenging; new possibilities for turrets- more options for plug makers; x and y coordinates for unguided weapons- you can put your cannons in different spots, say on your wings; smoke trails- neato effects; marines outfit- aids in capturing ships; fixed inaccurate turret prob- turrets now fire the direction the should while moving; and several other fixes/features.
All in all, probably one of the biggest updates to the engine.

**Typical. Mikee is just guessing. It's pretty good now, but Burch has a long list of things to empliment, so it'll be a bit. I'd say end of April if he keeps it up, Mayish otherwise.

So...does anyone have any idea how the marines will work?

In truth, I DON'T KNOW! THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING!

Halo, Homeworld, and Diablo II.
It's an outfit type. You set the cost, and the number of crew it increases.
THe smoketrails are a flag, with a few tiny bugs. They DO seriously kick ass.
The new AI is a little more challenging, but my fighting style is getting good vs it.

You buy them, and they increase your crew, so you have a greater chance of capturing ships.

uhh... what happens if you put a neg. value in the marines resource? "disband crew?"
also, if these are truly marines they would want to be paid, right?
one more suggestion: if you're going 400 whatever's a second, and you fire a gun it should go faster than you! how 'bout implementing inertia with fired weapons?
like when you hyper in and slow down? well, for propelled weapons anyways. yeah, i know there's that flag to launch at half the speed of the ship. it just seems odd that you can outrun your own phase cannon blasts! in a fast ship anyway.
my 17 2/3 cents for today.
