    • Flash Freeze Ending

I can't make the jump at the end of Flash Freeze. Can it be done or is there some secret I've missed?

And, by the way, is the ice pick somewhere on this level, too?

      Thanks,

      Ben

    • By the jump, do you mean the series of long jumps near the end of the level?

If so, pick up the speed powerup that's on the pedestal right after you come through the door. Second, make sure you're holding your run key down (actually, does it make a difference when you have the powerup?).

Now, run your little Ferazel behind at the chasm and jump just before you reach it. Keep holding down your "right" key and when you land on the little pieces of land between the gaps, hit jump again (but hit the key fully otherwise you'll just make a little jump)

By doing that, you'll be able to just bound over that entire part of the level in a few seconds. Or, like some people have done, you can stop yourself on each of the little pieces of land and do another jump (I just do it my way because it's faster. Safer too :))

As for the ice pick, yes, it is in that level (and even in this exact part of it). When you're jumping across the chasms, keep your eye out for some Xicrhons hanging around.

And if you want to see my method in action, check this out: (url="http://"http://members.home.com/jmln/ferazel.mov")Jeff's Method (2.3 MB)(/url)

Sorry for the choppiness of the movie, but it was recorded on a 6500 🙂 I would do the recording again, but since I'm using QT 5.0p3 Snapz Pro barfs when I try to save a movie (I've already sucessfully captured some large playing areas at the full 30fps. It would sure make for a better demo. Man I love G4s :p)

    • I canNOT get Ferazel to jump these gaps! I have tried at least 50 times to jump that first gap, and every time he manages to go up and over enough to snag at best three of the xichrons before he falls into the chasm and dies. I did exactly as you described with no change in the result. I'm so frustrated I swear I'm going to wipe this thing off my hard drive! 😞 HELP!!!!!

P.S. That little movie was way cool!

Are you sure that you are holding in your run key? Even with the speed powerup, you won't be fast enough to make the jumps without running.

I just get part of it, and then it stops loading. I can't even play part of it.

I thought the "run" key was the "move right" key. I got it now! But it will take a heap of practice to get all those gold xichrons, and I also see from a previous post that there's an ice pick to be had in this vicinity.

Thanks for your help, guys! 🙂

Hmm, I just loaded it fine and it played without problems.

What version of QuicktTime do you have?
