    • Ok, that last one may not have been a bug, but this is. Or else it's a conflict with some other application I'm running, which should still be checked.

Twice, within 10 minutes, I was just playing (as a conjurer, fighting the guys that have the book, in the very beginning of the game) without the music on, and suddenly my computer began making some terrible noises, like when you try to play through a music app something that isn't a sound file or something like that, and then after about 5-7 seconds of that, PoG crashed.

I thought I'd try it again because Trinity is out, but I think I'm not going to play for a while until it won't crash. I hope someone has an answer to this.
I was running at the same time: Mail, Netscape 6, MIE 5, OmniWeb, BBEdit6.5, Word v.X, Terminal, iTunes 2.0.3, Photoshop 5.5 (classic), AthenaIRC 1.7, Stickies, Fetch 3.0.3(classic), and Pitbull Pro. I know, it sounds like a lot, but I've got a lot of RAM and am usually using at least all the web browsers and Terminal and AthenaIRC and Mail and Fetch and BBEdit for web work, plus iTunes for my own amusement... and I have never had something of this nature happen, though Pitbull seems a little unstable and has crashed before, and the web browsers of course do that sometimes.

      Thanks,

      Greg

    • I closed all other open applications and tried again... at first I thought it had solved the problem, then it crashed again. I don't know if it did the crazy sound, because I had my sound turned off.

I hope somebody can duplicate this or figure out what I'm doing wrong...

      Greg

    • This was also discussed in the topic "POG on OS X" a couple of weeks ago. At the moment, the game crashes in native OS X mode when two sounds play at the same time. The workaround is to launch it in classic (requires launching the registration utility in classic, as well). Unfortunately, I've found mad crazy slowdown running it in classic whenever there are a decent number of sprites on-screen.

    • Hey, does anyone know how to get to the N Giodlin entrance? Specific directions from Endless wind passage. Thanx.

    • The program never crashed in native OSX mode before I installed the 1.01 update and Trinity. Now I'm in the process of reformatting my hard drive and trying to salvage all my data, because when I tried to play the game again and it had one of these breakdowns, there was an error in the kernel and it broke OSX. THIS DOES NOT MAKE ME HAPPY. If PoG was the cause of the first massive crash I've ever not been able to get out of without reformatting my HD, I will not be very pleased with Ambrosia. To give them the benefit of the doubt, it didn't ruin my computer the other couple times PoG crashed. But that they happened at the same time when my computer DID die makes PoG highly suspect.

    • I'm not sure if you should blame Ambrosia even if PoG did cause the crash. If I remember correctly, Pog was made by Beenox. Ambrosia are only the publishers.
