o.k. -I've been doing enough searching through the board to figure out that some versions have Ice Crystals in Iceconoclasm, and others have Ice Platform. The difference seems to be 1.03 has the platform. My problem is that I ordered my game from the web site and thought I was getting 1.03. Evidently not. Probably why I couldn't find the V-blade spell either.

Anyway - I finished all the fire levels before I got to the ice levels,so I'm pretty close to getting to the point where I can take on the queen, unless I decide to go back to some of the levels to try for more stuff.

My q uestion - do I need to update to 1.03 and if so, HOW THE HECK DO I DO IT?!?!

That being said, is there any other way I can get through the rest of Iceconoclasm without the Ice Platform?

You must have the proper "Ice" spell to get through the last ice level. It is also very handy in other levels such as "Ends of the Earth".

To update go to:

You'll see in the right corner an essentials file - click on the Ferazel Update & follow the links. You can download the update. It will take a while depending on the speed of your internet connection.

Bookmark the above page and you can go back later and try out all the third party levels.

I downloaded. Then, of course, being basically a computer idiot, it took forever to find the update. Then I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I put it in the 1.02 file. I thought. But it doesn't seem to have made a differenc.
What am I doing wrong?

Yeah I had this problem too. If you drop the 1.0.3 update into your usual 1.0.2 Ferazel folder your mac should ask you if you want to replace the old with the new. You click ok and then when you play ice wall, v blade and all starts appearing.

Well..I just tried the download and it worked fine for me. Let me ask you a couple of things to see if we can get your problem figured out. Are you getting the file to expand? After you download the file you should have an unstuffed file that says Ferazel_Update.bin. Drop that in your stuffit application and you should have another file that says Ferazel's Wand 1.03 Update.sea Click on that and you will be asked where you want the file extracted. Then take every file in your update folder and place it in your exiting game folder. You'll be asked if you want to replace applications. You do. Tell me if you still need any help.

Oh..another thought, what version of Stuffit do you have? It may be time for an update.

I have Stuffit 5.5.
The error message appears at the end of the download. I get the Ferazel update.bin, but when I drop it into Stuffit I get the same error message.
Frustrating.

Stuffit 5.5 should do it. I'm assuming you don't have an old browser version then. If you still can't get it to work, I'd suggest writing to help@ambrosia.com

Well, if you do have to do the game over again after the update (there are some things that won't be fixed after you get the update if you've already passed them) Ben might be of some help.

During the "early days" before things like the Ice Wall spell bug was fixed, he would gladly edit your saved game and switch the Ice Crystals to Ice Wall. He did this with numerous other things as well. I would assume he'd be happy to do this still.

Or, you could get FerazEdit and manually change it yourself (it would be the same thing Ben would do, just with an interface instead :))
