Sadly, the answer is kind of 
The very next level "Out of the frying pan.." is in the same style, except you're trying to outrun it downwards. I found it much much easier than If you can't stand the heat.

Well, no, but what I meant was that when you're going through the level, you should ignore all the Xichrons and other goodies until you've passed the leve. Once you pass the level, you can then go back and grab all the stuff you want
You can get into Ends of the Earth without getting every Xichron in the game, yes
