I have the shield and two or the dragons teeth. My outstanding tasks are:
- Find the tome of elixirs,
- a symbol of Garendall
- a dark fairy.
I have been all the way up north attempting to find High Garendall, but I'm not sure which cave/crypt is the relevant one.
I'm not sure what would be a sysmbol of garendall
I missed the weird dialogue of the old man who wants the dark fairy.
Some clues to each of the quests would be appreciated.

If you go directly North from the Northern Territory Entrance until you run into the base of the mountains, then go West approx. two screens. You'll see an opening in the mountains. Go North and you'll see a Crypt. Go into the Crypt and following through. You'll see the symbol for a path (must have Pathfinder Skills to see it). Go through and you'll exit out of another Crypt that's North of the one you entered. Go a very short distance North to another base of Mountains and head East. You'll see a camera pan of one of the Giants. You need to work your way around the rocks and you'll see his hand next to a rope bridge. Climb the bridge. That's High Garendall.
Among the rocks to the west of his head, you'll see an object on the ground.... 
The Tome is in the Cave that's on the same level as the Second Crypt

Go all the way south through the Endless Winds, cross over a bridge (there's a sign there that says Varandeep Lake South, Ruins East) that's not the bleeding forest. After crossing the bridge, go south (follow the road) South into the next square. You'll run into a cave, enter the cave and work your way south through it until you find a ladder bridge. Go down the ladder and go to the east (there's the exit) it'll take you out on the south side of the lake. Go East Two Squares and you'll be at the farm house ruins. Have fun

Uh, no.
The tome is in the cave that has an entrance in each of the squares of High Garendall (the only caves there.) You can enter and exit through either cave mouth. One entrance is in the southwest of the western square near where you find the symbol of Garendall.
