    • Full-Fledged Bastards: help, or creator's e-mail address.

I'm playing the Full-Fledged Bastards plug-in, and I've run into a bit of a problem. While flying the 'Crazy Bastard' mission (go disable the Alien globe, take its brain back to Blackthorne), I ran into a bit of a problem; once disabling the globe (managed to toast myself once before I actually got it), I got the 'You cannot board this ship' message.

I origonally planned on bugging the creator about it, but his e-mail address wasn't in the readme. Anyone, anything?

      Thanks!

    • chances are there just isn't a desc that corresponds with the cargo pickup part of the mission. the most probable reason for your problem is that you boarded it, but didn't notice it b/c there was no popup desc and mission ships don't give the usual boarding dialog, and then tried to board it a 2nd time. just go until you get the can't board ship message, then go finish the mission as normal, it should work

    • I did return to Blackthorne just in case that was how it was, but no luck. The peculiar thing (yes, another peculiar thing) was that, when my friggin' escorts blasted the alien globe once it was disabled, I didn't get a "Mission failed" message.

Confusing, confusing, and I want to play the plug-in! I'm starting to feel like a whiny six year old.

    • i'm feeling too lazy right now to download the plug again or to go out and get a serial-firewire adaptor (got a new g4, woohoo! unfortunately, all the ports on the back are different so the only way i can move stuff is to ftp it to my isp and back. btw, if anyone knows a better way i'd be eternally grateful), but the next time i decide to plug the monitor into my old one i'll open up ffb in resedit and see what's wrong w/ the mission

    • Hrmph. After about half an hour of Schmelta tinkering, I got it to work. Problem solved, I have my alien brain. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

    • Hey there!

Jason here, FFB creator. It seems you found the problem. It always worked on my version but screwed-up for everyone else. ShmeltaV (I think it was called) caused no end of problems for me. I wish I could be of more help but I haven't had a Mac since system 7.5...

I'm glad people are still playing FFB though!

If anyone is interested, the FFB story (in book form) has just been purchased by Wild Child Publishing and (baring disaster) should be out next year in e-book. In the mean-time, you can read the first several chapters at: http://iceniqueennovel.wordpress.com/

Would love to hear any feedback people might have.

      Jason
