    • Rebel Recon Mission

      Hi everyone,

I've been playing EV as the Classic Plugin for Nova, and it's generally just as awesome as I remember. I'm having a problem with the Rebel Recon mission from Levo, though (locate and scan the Confed Fleet and report back within 15 days or so).

I can't seem to find the fleet ANYWHERE around Levo, and I've checked within a few systems in every direction. I keep reloading when the time limit runs out. Any ideas?

    • It should ALWAYS be at Rigel

    • Thanks! I could have sworn I've been there, but I'll give it a shot next time I get the mission.

    • Welcome to the boards, Ach.

Do you have escorts? Might be why you're not finding them within the time-frame. Escorts add additional days to each jump. Just a thought. 🙂

    • Thanks - good to be here 😄

Okay, I tried ditching my escorts and going to Rigel, but no luck - the most I see is a Cruiser with a few fighter escorts, and even if I return to Levo after seeing that, nothing happens. I've hung out in Rigel for a while, jumped out and in a few times, but still no sign. Guess I'll keep trying.

Oh, and by the way, the description says I need to scan the fleet. I've been selecting each Confed ship I see and hailing it just in case. Am I wasting my time?

Thanks again for the help guys!

If a mission asks you to scan a fleet, all you have to do is select it, no need to hail them.

Edit: Okay, I opened it up in ResEdit and the Confed Fleet should be in an adjacent system to the one you got the mission in, and it should hyper in after you do.

If you are checking all over and failing the mission because of time, do this. Ater you accept the initial mission check out two or three systems, then quit EV without landing , restart and then you can look in the other systems. That way you can check out a bunch of systems and not fail. You have to restart but at least you don't fail the mission. I hope that makes sense.

    • Well, it took me long enough, but I finally found them!

Thanks for all the advice and patience! I'd done all the other Rebel missions, so I guess I'm done now. Next stop, planetary tribute.

I'm also looking forward to starting EVO soon - I only ever played the first EV back in the day, and I hear Override is better in almost every way.

      Thanks again!
