    • Gov't Status

Does anyone know, whether in EVO a government always starts hating you upon alliance with another gov't? For example, I destroy renegades and the U.E. starts liking me. Do the Voinians now hate me, even though I don't attack them?

BTW, a question for matt burch ideally, or anyone who might know: were there Russian people working on EVO, or beta testers or something? I see A LOT of Russian references in Override, like the planet and system names, news screen has Russian, etc. Also, Voina means war in Russian, and Mir means peace. (Voinians, Miranu, etc.)

Depends on the relationship of the two governments. If you develop a good status with, say, the UE, then any goverment friendly to UE would be friendly to you, enemies of the UE, such as the Voinians, would dislike you.

I don't remember the exact relationship among UE, Renegades, and Voinians, but in general if your status goes up with one govt (UE) it will go down with that govt's enemy (Voinia.) The renegades are generally hated by everyone, so it is usually safe to attack them (at least as far as your status with other governments is concerned.)

      Hope that helps a little.

    • I have a related question on this note. I really want to get on the Voinians good side, but I just can't seem to do it. Even as you start the game they dislike you. I ran a few missions around in UE space and now I am a felon there! Would it still be possible for me to get on their good side, and get into their mission sting? As well as where does it start. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a lot!

    • The way to get on ANY gov't's good side is to destroy their enemies, provided that gov't has enemies. The Voinians do, those being the UE. In other words, attack the UE. Specifically, got to frontier systems, and join a UE vs. Voinian battle. Help the Voinians. This is an easy way to get you combat rating up, too. Alternatively, you can try attacking Emalgha. They're easier to kill, too.

Start a new game and go to the bar at pax station (it's in Dogover) and get the mission from the Voinian. Intercept the Frontier Express ship and do whatever else the mission tells you to do. Now, the UE will be pissed off at you and the Voinians will like you.

"Arthur Philip Dent?" pursued the alien in a kind of efficient yap.
      "Er...er...yes...er...er...," confirmed Arthur.
"Your're a jerk," repeated the alien, "a complete kneebiter."

    • Yes, but it is not quite that easy, becuase you do not always get the mission. As I believe someone else pointed out, you have to have a higher combat rating. And in the meantime, you have to get a decent enough ship to actualy attack something. SO it is not quite as simple as you guys are making it out to be. Keep in mind they don't always give you the missions everytime you go there.
