Oh, I always got the impression they were indestructible as of 1.0.1 or 1.0.2...
However, you say a few minutes with a non-standard weapon... sure that would make it more plausible, though I don't think I have the time to confirm it myself.

Still, I've always preferred the old ones; a single torpedo would shatter a small asteroid. Felt a lot more intimidating.
Anyway, enough of this old geezer's ranting.

      Sw33t j3**5! nostalgic tear
They even saved what was left of the old forum 😄

Honestly, in my opinion, the only true value old EV got left is the nostalgic one. I'm not saying that's bad though, because that value alone overshadows both Nova and Override combined... and Nova is one impressive package!

      Anyway, thanks Beeblebrox.

Yeah, on my EVGE cheat pilot (hey, if you have a bad day, the best thing to blow off some steam is to eliminate entire civilizations) I had 99 of the Polaris yellow/green beam and 99 of the powerful Alien beams... still took several minutes of constant pounding. It was insane.

Heh heh, brings me fond memories of the one team I really cheated, creating a modified Wraith Missile Cruiser and maxing out on stuff...I actually still followed the outfit limits, but I made everything free and weigh nothing. Though I was limited to 4 laser cannons, I could also purchase a ----load of turbolasers, various pulse cannon, and a heck of a lot of long-range stuff that was, well, very empowering.

On the subject of asteroids (really having very little to do with this topic, actually), in reality, they're much larger than the ships, so it makes sense that they'd be fairly difficult to destroy. But to fragment them, I don't see why it'd be that hard...

Ahhh the only time I ever really cheated... I just created a beam weapon with maximum damage, range, and full turreting ability. It really took all the fun away... especially when I discovered that it would still take too damned long to take over Stardock Alpha.

As for asteroids, I havn't bothered destroying them since 1.0.0. Then again, in Hazard, the would-be-Xenocide-engine, that was all you could do.

I remeber that I had to go to the internet cafe to see if the override section was finished. I payed Ł2 a day to see if it was done. I gave up in the end. Brings back some bad memorys and good memorys of my old quadra 600
