      Just search on the internet for REAL space photos and crop out stars out of a picture you like.. its the best way

      I've tried that, and most pictures with stars in the BG are just blurry blobs, instead of crisp and multi-colored points of light, like they are in the banner skyblade made.

      Gliteratto? Excellent plugin... But it is not freeware. It is twenty dollars, which I payed the first day I used it. You can get a discount (technically) by buying Gliteratto, Lunar Cell (creates planet graphics, and good ones), and Solar Cell (used to make my Saber Studios banner background) all for an easy forty dollars. I own all these plugins, and the results they create are quite impressive. Very much worth the buck.

      EV-like? Very easy. Create a new image in Photoshop (any size), and apply black to the background. Create a new layer (this isn't necissary, but it helps), and title it "stars." Grab yourself the paintbrush tool, and select the prefered size (which is probably rather small in your case). Apply white dots at random throughout layer one. If you like, select another brush size, larger or smaller, and apply additional white dots to your starfield. You should get a star-like effect. If the image still seems a bit odd-looking, apply additional stars (or take away some stars if your graphic is cramped).

      Hope that helps you out.

      I got Glitterato... It's pretty cool. I've been playing with it... I may buy it, maybe not. It depends if I ever use it.

      I want to create a cool image map for the main page, but I'm low on ideas... All I can think of is taking a planet window and changing the text, and I've seen that done in a dozen places... I want something original... Maybe tonight I will wake up with an ingenious idea. I've seen some stuff online that I like, but it's all way too hard for me to do. One day I will buy lightwave and sit down with it and learn to do that kinda stuff.

      You got Gliteratto? Good... Try using it before the demo time runs out, and see how you like it.

      You need a good image map graphic? I could make one for you if you like. I've already got something in mind. I could try to get it to you by tommorow or Tuesday if you want to give me the project.

      If you won't spend much for a 3D program, then I'm sure you won't spend roughly 2,700 bucks for Lightwave. 😉 If I do get Lightwave anytime soon, it would have to be with a student discount.

      Most people who are still taking educational courses (in other words, if you are a school student) will receive student discounts when buying certain software. For example, I was able to knock two hundred dollars off Photoshop's normal price when I bought version 6.0 about a year ago. However, homeschoolers usually get a much larger discount, so I can't say how much of a discount you could receive on certain software. Many companies don't even offer student discounts...

      Hey, skyblade, do you have any idea where I might find some good tutorials for photoshop? I'm sort of a beginner, but I know most of the tools and stuff. I see a lot of amazing stuff done in photoshop and I would like ot learn how to make stuff like that.

      Hmmm... I've never used any Photoshop tutorials before, so I couldn't say where to find any (I've used Photoshop for seven years now, which is why I've learned all I have). Perhaps doing a search at google.com could get you some good results...

      If there's anything in particular, I'll be glad to help you out and give you some guides. I plan on creating some Photoshop tutorials someday to put up at Saber Studios, but I haven't done so yet.

      Mac, no offense, but I'm really beginning to get irritated with this. Sure, I can do general miscellaneous graphics for websites at the moment, but I certainly can't create a huge shipyard and outfit set for multiple governments, much less the badges and rank insignas. If you remember correctly, you asked me to do the rank graphics for the aliens as well, and that didn't help the situation. :frown: We can pull off BFS III without those graphics. Aren't all the other webstories successful without shipyard and outfit graphics?
